We are absolutely delighted to have the expertise and experience of Robin Brown from The Cave and Powderham Live CIC at the studio here in Dawlish. Robin has completed the first mentoring session for bands alongside the equally fantastic Cloudi Lewis in preparation for the Dawlish Celebrates Carnival event Play It 25 which takes place on 12th August. We are very excited about working together on this and have plans to collaborate more in the future; working collectively to support the very talented musicians we have in the local area. Very exciting times ahead 🙌

Thank you Mat Day for delivering our second Teignmouth Jazz and Blues Club/Cave Masterclass on Thursday 20th Feb. This session was for the guitar & took place in The Cave rehearsal studio..

Mat is a great musician with the ability to inspire guitarists with his playing and knowledge of the instrument. He plays blues with a measure of jazz and soul. In the workshop he generously shared his wisdom in both practical and musical theory.
I hope to be able to run more sessions like this and help musicians to reach their goals.

This is a partnership with The Cave music project & Teignmouth Jazz & Blues Club.

To wrap things up, in the evening I also mixed the sound for Mat Day Band for their sold out show at Teignmouth Yacht Club in the evening. What a fantastic show it was.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the Teenage Kicks Sessions The Cave
The project came to the end of the funded programme. Last Sunday. It has been fantastic to be able to introduce new musicians to the Cave. The jam sessions have bought together young musicians that may not have otherwise met. They have had opportunities to play and gig together.
We are having an interlude to evaluate, plan, and seek funds for our next series of sessions for young musicians. Continue to follow and use the Cave and keep a watch out for our next events and opportunities.

I am excited to announce that Teignmouth Jazz & Blues Club Charity No. 1086155 have linked up with The Cave music project on February 20th to host a guitar Masterclass with Mat Day: 11:30am-1:30pm
This is an opportunity for guitar players to learn some valuable tips from a professional musician whilst he is in the area.
He is playing with his band in the evening at Teignmouth Yacht Club.

It was lovely to see The Revision Party at the Cave today on an away day for the band. Travelling from Lympstone to use our rehearsal studio. Look forward to seeing you all soon :)

This Saturday just gone was a showcase for the Silver Sessions at The Alice Cross Centre.
The showcase was a great way to celebrate the new friendships and achievements that have come about through these sessions.

The Silver Sessions: A weekly group for retired musicians to play music together at The Cave that has been running for the last five months.
This project was funded until the end of this month
I hope that the legacy will be either the group continuing these sessions without me or with me or they may choose to break off into smaller splinter groups to continue to play music together.

Right now the Cave needs more bookings and welcomes new users. Particularly during our daytimes

The Showcase:
To represent the acoustic morning sessions we had a array of songs performed solo, by a quartet as well as an acoustic assemble.
To finish off the evening we had music from our electric afternoons.
First a trio
To finish off the evening a ten piece band (see attached film)
All of the musicians attending have met through the Cave music project.
This project has created the potential of bands as well as friendships.

Next Saturday will be our showcase for the Teenage Kick Sessions. The funded programme will soon be coming to the end.
The evening will celebrate the achievements of the musicians who have attended. I am confident it's legacy will equate to some new bands and friendships.
We had some outstanding music being played today at our Teenage Kicks Sessions.
For the event I am also inviting other teenage musicians that wish to be a part of this to come along and take part. For this reason I have billed it as a teenage open mic night.
If you have not attended the sessions please message if you would like me more details, to reserve a slot. If you are not 100% sure or are undecided turn up on the night and I am sure i will be able to have a space for you.
