I met Mustapha Mbye earlier this year at the Telford Amateur Boxing Club he has an energy about him that says - I don't give up, and I won't give up.
He has shown his skill over his 60 fights, with a succession of wins that is phenomenal.
Not only is he a great boxer but he also really cares about his community and anyone who steps foot in the club is welcomed by him - I've seen him challenge people who are not fully inclusive, and arrive early to training to help new people - irrespective of their ability or needs.
I knew he had a back story, from our chats about youth projects and disability - and how he wants to help youths experiencing challenges and deprivation.
He was also so keen to promote the club with children from a local primary school and I enjoyed working with him at their summer fayre and the club - there was a real buzz around the stand and so many young people were motivated to give it a go.
Hearing this very honest interview, explains how overcoming struggles and channelling your focus into something positive can have a transformative impact on an individual.
Kudos to Simon and Linzi at the club, because the work they do to help young people in the local community is really significant.
I honestly wish him all the best on his journey,
