I know this couple that had been dating for 16years. They were high school sweethearts. They fell in love them and dated each other. The lady gained admission to the University. She did before the guy. The following year, he gained admission and Ms lover girl dropped out.
Why? So she can use the money to pay his fees.
He was exceptionally brilliant in school. Passed out with a 2:1. Mathematical Engineer. He sabi book forget. All these while they were living together like they were married.
I had known them for 4years, and during this 4years, I've never heard them fight or cuss each other, or argue or disrespectful towards each other. I would always see them playing, teasing each other and all that.
They seemed grounded.
She was a petty trader and he was a secondary school principal.
They seemed okay. It was a public compound so we would always see them bath together. Eat together. Do everything together.
As at the time all these was happening. They were in their late 30s. Maybe 39F and 40M of age.
Along the line, he did his Masters and I think she paid for it. He was still the Principal. No job upgrade. Same school. (I wondered what's the need)
Like I said, they have been together for 16years, but that. I noticed she moved out.
I also observed, when she moved, he reduced in weight, this is because she was being a full wife and performing wifely duties, cooking for him, washing his clothes. He's the typical man that can't boil water, so he was miserable WITHOUT her and it was obvious.
She would still try to come by weekends to cook for him. Even at that, he burnt the food when warming.
Fast forward a year later, she came one fine day and dropped a big bomb on him, telling him she was leaving him except he pays her bride price.
Thinking he would make plans to see her parents after the bomb shell she dropped, he didn't.
Months went by,
She stopped coming around. Till one early morning, she came by 5am to carry her clothes and the rest of her things and it resulted to a big fight.
This fight resulted to her breaking down his door to take her properties(things she bought in the house) and as a revenge for his door been broken, he poured kerosene on her 5 bags but was pinned down by neighbors not to burn it.
She then called her siblings and cousins. Those ones came prepared and ready and carried her things.
From what she said, she was with him for 16years. She stopped school for him, she cooked with her money he never gave her a dime in all their 16years of dating, she paid the rent, paid all the bills, bought her clothes herself, took care of everything in the home and never bothered him about money cos he was schooling and she never got a thank you from him, all she got were insults from him, but because she has stayed with him for 16years, she refused to go expecting he respects her by paying her dowry, but NO..
What did he do? He gathered money to get another degree (PhD)
Oh! She was maaaaaad. She said so he could gather money for that but not to do right by her. Or pay the bills. She said he never loved her, if he did, he would not have brought shame to her.
In my 4years of knowing this couple. I had never heard their voice or seen them fight. They always handled whatever conflict quietly. This was the first time i was seeing this other side.
Well, by the time she was done packing what was left of her stuff, the room was empty, because she bought EVERYTHING IN THAT HOUSE. Only thing left was his clothes. This babe carried down to stove and mattress. Room was empty like they were moving out.

Anyways this happened in 2017/2018.
She moved on.
Guess what?
This guy got married that year to another woman he had met in 3months.
What happened was that, after the very bad breakup. He started having s*x with many random women. It was as if he was on a mission trying to get all the S*x he has missed out on in 16years. He was bringing different girls every night. This he kept doing for months till he brought this one. He was supposed to change her and bring in another the following day but he didn't. Same girl. The next day same person. And like that no more and before we knew it. He told us he engaged her and that same year he went to meet her parents and that's how they did wedding. I mean Traditional and Church wedding.

I saw her after like 7years just last week. She's still unmarried. 💔. She's now in her late 40s. I was so pained.
The guy on the otherhand has 2kids.
I wished she was pregnant at least in the 16years they were together. Her son or daughter would have been up to 20years by now and even if they didn't end up together. She would still have a child and not miss out totally.
Her prime wasted.
