🎭The magnificent Lighthouse Theatre Ltd returns to Maesteg Town Hall with a new Live Radio Play performed by The Playhouse Of The Air: CASABLANCA 🌴

The world is at war, but a self-made man shields himself and other misfits from the ravages of war in a bar in Morocco where the Vichy French government hold sway. Refugees from all over Europe come to Africa for passage and salvation. When one of them walks into his bar…his whole world is turned upside town…for what would you sacrifice everything?…

The Playhouse of the Air company returns to broadcast this classic tale of love in war-torn North Africa in front of a live theatre audience – complete with live music, a pre-show experience and a foley artist creating the sound effects on stage. Join Myrtle, Harry, Bert and their colleagues as they invite you for an evening in Rick’s Bar….If you don’t come, you will regret it, maybe not today…

🎭 ANNOUNCING: A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas & Richard Burton presented by Lighthouse Theatre Ltd 🎄

‘Snow grew overnight on the roofs of the houses’

Dylan Thomas and Richard Burton are icons of twentieth century Wales. They have produced stories about Christmas in Wales that rival Charles Dickens’ short stories about Christmas in nineteenth century England. In some ways Thomas and Burton can be accused of inventing Christmas in exactly the same way Dickens is responsible for creating the Christmas that we enjoy so wholeheartedly.

For all of that, however, Burton and Thomas were actors whose love of words shines through these two short but heart warming stories.

Described by the South Wales Evening Post as ‘a joy’, this ‘Welsh Icons Xmas show’ performed by two actors has proved hugely popular.

Tomorrow morning, we begin rehearsals for our winter tour Casablanca: A Live Radio Play. So this morning (made less early by the departure of British Summer Time) was a chance for an early morning outing...
The recent burst of street art on old distribution boxes really does help to engender a sense of community. Who are we? Stronger with all of you together; that is true. Thank you, Mumbles and Wales. Hopefully we will see you out there this winter.
