Lighthouse Theatre Ltd We are a small-scale theatre company committed to producing engaging and accessible work for the communities of Wales.

Lighthouse Theatre Ltd is based in Mumbles, Swansea. Lighthouse is dedicated to producing character-driven interpretations of classic texts (both novels and plays), screenplays and new writing for audiences not commonly associated with traditional theatre as well as a more experienced and established theatre-going public. We tour to village halls, community centres, small and mid-scale venues. We

also offer theatre skills' workshops as an adjunct to touring productions, usually - but not exclusively - based around the text we are performing. Over the last few years we have performed works by Noel Coward, Dylan Thomas, Richard Burton, Daniel Jones, Shakespeare and several new plays. We are supported by the NightOut scheme, Arts Council Wales, The Grand and Dylan Thomas Theatres, and most recently, by the Welsh Government through the DT100 programme.

We are seeking to finalise casting for our autumn tour.
Small to mid scale tour of Wales

Casablanca – A Live Radio Play .

This is a staged radio play version of the movie classic. We are looking for the following role only:

Victor Lazlo. 40 – 50s.
Strong, principled, courageous. Lazlo is a leading member of the Hungarian Resistance, trying to secure passage out of Casablanca. He is a wanted man, but one with a reputation for skill and diplomacy. Husband to Ilsa, who would do anything to keep him safe. Ultimately a rival to Rick for her affections, but they share a mutual respect.

All actors will also play other roles as cast. Vocal harmony skills and radio experience an advantage. Excellent American accent and Eastern European essential.

All cast members will need to be good company members willing to ‘muck-in’ and assist in get-ins and get-outs. All need to tour from a South Wales base.
Please note all other roles are cast.

Casting 13th August.

We are especially interested in actors who are Welsh, with a Wales base or from the global majority.

Rehearsals: October 27th 2025

Touring: November 13 – December 5th. One and two night bookings in venues across Wales.

Fees in line with ITC Sub Rep Grade rates of pay
