Yesterday was another foggy morning on The Medway. Hadn't paddled for about 3 weeks so it was good to be out again.

Yesterdays paddle was to Oak Weir and back. 3 of us set off with the aim to push past East Lock. A leisurely paddle there with a bit more haste on the way back. Aiming to set off earlier next time and see if we can hit Sluice Weir.

Had a nice couple of hours on the Medway with Harry this morning. He really enjoyed it. Will squeeze in a few paddles with Izzy too whilst the weather isn't too cold and if all goes well, another tandem early next year so we can get out as a family of 4.

With a few days in Liverpool, we had to take the opportunity for a paddle. Obviously! The guys at Liverpool Watersport Centre (Merseysport) were very accommodating (thanks Jon). We went out on Islander Kayaks Calypso's. The weather wasn't the greatest, but it didn't stop us having a great time and seeing the city from a different perspective

Ever wondered what the world looks like from a paddlers perspective?
We've been recording some of our journeys along the Medway recently. We often get glimpses of wildlife etc and are never quick enough to grab the camera and get a pic. This way, whatever we see and do gets captured 🙂

4 of us headed out this morning in Kirton Kayaks LTD Tercels.
We headed downstream from the Tonbridge Canoe Club, through Town Lock, Elridge Lock and Porters Lock. We pushed on and made it to East Lock for the first time. A 6km journey there. Definitely our longest paddle so far. A fair bit of head wind on the way back but the 12km paddle was completed in slightly over 2 hours.

One great thing about spending time regularly on the river is that you get to watch the wildlife. It's been lovely seeing these 3 cygnets grow up from the cute little balls of fluffy feathers that followed their parents everywhere over the past few months

Sun's out, paddles up! This morning, members of Tonbridge Canoe Club enjoyed a fantastic downstream trip to Porters Lock. We soaked up the beautiful weather and great company with a well-deserved picnic

6 of us headed out this morning on a mix of Kirton Kayaks LTD Tercels and VAJDA Wildfire 60's.
We headed downstream through Town Lock, Elridge Lock and Porters Lock before making the journey back in time for the club closing at 12:30pm.
It was a fun paddle and one of our longest treks so far.
Blue-green algae was nowhere as bad today.

Spent just under 2 hours on Monday morning having a paddle on The Medway with my wife. It's crazy how much more blue-green algae there was compared to 3 days earlier.
