Every tape we receive has a story to tell that is special to a family.

Every day being able to transfer and restore these precious memories, it is a great privilege and honour.

These tapes here have a brilliant story to tell, not just by the content on them, but what happened to them.

These were sadly lost by the family over 20 years ago, never to be seen again until one day recently a young man picked up a used camcorder at a local market.

It contained these tapes in it. He had a look at the footage and realised it was precious family memories, and he wanted to find the owners.

With a bit of detective work he worked out their names from the tapes and did some digging about to find someone with the same name as the baby in the video and sent them a message out of the blue.

He then sent a few screenshots from the tapes and right enough it was the tapes that went missing over 20 years ago.

Today the lovely family have had these tapes transferred and will have the chance to watch them again after all these years.

So just remember that memories are precious. Well done to the young man who reunited this family with some precious memories.

We hope that this festive story of caring makes you smile as it did us.

Herbie Goes to Rothesay - Standard8 Cine Film Scan

Our customer 'Hazel Murdoch' has very kindly allowed us to share this recent transfer taken by her dad 'James Lennox McNeil' on 12th July 1978 when the Disney Cavalcade boarded the original Glen Sannox ferry for the day going 'doon the water' of the Clyde coast, stopping at Rothesay and this short film ending at the cinema in Hamilton Street, Saltcoats.

You can see many Disney characters as well as the famous VW Beetle 'Herbie' and friends.

This was around the time the movie Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo was showing in the cinemas so would have been a memorable day for so many.

Herbie Goes to Rothesay

Our customer 'Hazel Murdoch' has very kindly allowed us to share this very special treat which her father 'James Lennox McNeil' recorded on Standard8 Cine Film on 12th July 1978 when the Disney Cavalcade sailed on the original Glen Sannox ferry to Rothesay and doon the water of the Clyde coast ending up in Hamilton Street in Saltcoats.

Seen here is many Disney characters along with Herbie the VW Beetle which was very famous at the time as this was when the movie Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo was in the cinema.

A great day out for many. Was anyone watching there on the day?
