This is James.

When I met James he was a PT who had his own business.

A few years later, it just didn’t serve him anymore & he fell out of love with it.

He always had a massive passion for food but said to me he didn’t want to go all in, incase he lost that passion because it would just become a job…

But that worry was completely unfounded.

That passion has taken him further than he ever imagined.

Last night James won Scottish Craft Butchers Young Butcher Innovation Award using his creativity, passion & love for food as well as incorporating his very own product CraicLarder

A product that went live in June, and has since sold over 500 units with major events in the pipeline to take it to the next level.

Oh & this year he also became a beekeeper; stay tuned for Craic Honey 🐝

James doesn’t like anyone saying they are proud of him, so I won’t.

But I will say is, go and buy Craic Larder - support the dream, support small, because best believe that brand is going the distance 🖤

Knowing your target audience is crucial for any business that’s basic… but see when your target is YOU, that changes the game a bit.

I suppose it should make it easier;

what you enjoy, your target will enjoy
what you like to do, your target will likely like to do

So ask yourself, who’s your target? And if it’s you, would you engage with the content you are putting out to the world?

5 things I’ve learned since launching my first business in 2020: 💡

🥸 It’s okay to say no. At the start, I said yes to everything ❌ but sometimes the client isn’t the right match, and sometimes I’m not the right match for the client. And that’s okay.

😵‍💫 Burnout is VERY real. Finding the balance can be difficult & I’m still learning how to 🤎

🥲 Look back as much as you look forward. Big goals are exciting, but pause sometimes, reflect on how far you’ve come, and don’t be hard on yourself, you’re doing great!

🫡 Authenticity wins. Find your own feet, your own style, and your own way of doing things. It took me a long time to really work out what I wanted to be 📸

🤗 Collaboration over competition. There’s enough work for everyone.
