We had an absolutely beautiful walk to Faringdon Folly Tower at the weekend 🍂

I actually took the wrong route and ended up pushing my buggy up a steep gravel road, but we made it! 😅 I did find the proper walking path for the way back down, which was much easier. See last photo for the entrance you need to spot if you have a pushchair.

🍄We parked up the buggy and headed straight for the toadstool circle. Each toadstool points you in the right direction to find the animal sculptures.

As well as all the carved woodland animals, there is a piano, a pirate ship, fairy tree and more. And make sure you keep a lookout for the “4 and 20 blackbirds” hidden in the trees too.

The tower is unfortunately under repair, so it was fenced off but it is still well worth the visit. We spent about an hour and a half here exploring and trying to find all the sculptures hidden in the woodlands.

🐿️ We so so many squirrels, collected pine cones, drew n the mud with sticks and climbed on logs. There are plenty of benches to site and snack or just enjoy the amazing views.

It was a really lovely afternoon and we will definitely go back.

🍁Buy drinks and refreshments from the café at Old Lodge or main tea-room

⏰ The site’s open 10am to 5pm with last entry at 4pm. Assistance dogs only. No need to book. Parking also free.

Sing, Dance, Act, Play - are you ready for a new term of classes?

Drama Tots Chippenham, Malmesbury, Tetbury and Cirencester sessions are fun and educational with music, movement and drama for children aged 18 months – 5 years old.

Go on an exciting adventure each week with a new theme using movement, music, role play, props, puppets, obstacles, parachute games, bubbles and problem solving tasks!

There's a whole bunch of learning skills hidden in there but most importantly it's all about the fun!

It can be a little daunting trying a new class but you'll get a warm welcome and there's no pressure to join in.

Looks like the rain might be on the way! There's a LOT undercover at Roves Farm and it's a full day out with so much to see and do.

There are timed activities throughout the day: we petted rabbits, goats, ferrets and a snake! 🐍 We played in the ride-on tractor barn, visited the new piglets, and explored the grounds. 🐷

🚜 We went on a tractor ride, which stopped off in the woods for an activity 🌳

After lunch it was time for a play in the indoor play area. There's a separate soft play section for under-3s, as well as a larger play area with three big slides and climbing equipment.

🛝 We finished our trip with one of the outdoor play areas and the sandpit!

Safe to say, they both had a long nap on the drive home after such an exciting day!

Calming lake, shade of the trees, play park, cafe, bbq’s, low/high ropes, historic house & breathe! 🌿💧✨️

Loved exploring Lydiard Park just outside Swindon.

FREE to enter, £5 parking for the day. We have never been before & found it all really refreshing.

Awesome to enjoy Jungle Parc there too (extra costs). Really impressed with the low & high ropes course.

Lush mooch around the beautiful lake (you can’t go in it) & exploring the grounds - all for free!! Extra charge to enter the Historic House there.

Great play parks & woodland to explore.

Easy parking, toilets & cafe/shop onsite too.

BEAUTIFUL BADBURY BLUEBELLS

My friend recommend Badbury for a bluebell walk last year and I was not prepared for just how stunning the display is. My phone camera just couldn't do it justice. Photos are from last year.

The bluebells are immense with a purple haze across the woodland floor. There are big wide pathways that with log bordering the edges so they've remained undamaged and there are little viewing platforms to stand on for a photo opportunity. Please don't wander off the path as they're so delicate that they won't survive - even for that quick little photo.

It's worth exploring the wider area too with some stunning countryside views and marked routes of different lengths. There's some lovely wild play areas for kids along the way and it's so wonderfully peaceful.

Looked after by the National Trust - parking was £2 last year for non members. The card machine wasn't working when I visited and luckily I had coins in my car so bring some change with you.

Finding it was my slight challenge as the postcode on the National Trust website took me elsewhere. Use it for a general direction and then keep your eyes out for signs when you get closer.

If you've not been before, I'd definitely recommend for this year as we just have a few fleeting weeks before they're gone.
