Join us as we lead on anti-ableism and challenge the cultural sector to do better!

Our latest podcast season invites you into honest, challenging, and necessary conversations about disability, ableism, and change.

Through personal stories and sector-wide reflection, we’re confronting how ableism shows up in the cultural world, and exploring how we can collectively create spaces that are not only more accessible, but actively anti-ableist.

Some food for thought:
“What makes a podcast episode engaging from start to finish?”
A podcast episode is engaging from start to finish when it’s well-structured, authentic, and delivers real value to its audience.
It starts with a strong opening—a clear, confident intro that gives listeners a reason to stay. Whether it's a thought-provoking question, a bold statement, or a teaser of what's to come, the first 10 seconds are crucial in setting the tone.
Content flow matters. A good episode has a clear direction, avoids rambling, and keeps the listener curious. Pacing, tone, and topic changes need to be balanced to maintain energy and interest throughout.
Strong hosting is essential. Listeners connect with hosts who are natural, relatable, and genuinely interested in the conversation. The best hosts guide the discussion with thoughtful questions and active listening, giving space for guests to shine without losing momentum.
Audio quality is key. Clean, well-edited sound with minimal distractions makes a huge difference in listener retention. Music and sound design should enhance the episode—not overwhelm it.
Above all, the episode should deliver what it promises, whether that’s entertainment, insight, or inspiration. Listeners are more likely to return when they feel their time has been respected.
Ending on a strong note—summarising key takeaways, offering reflection, or simply closing with warmth—gives the episode a satisfying finish and encourages listeners to engage further.
In short, an engaging episode earns trust quickly, delivers quality throughout, and leaves a lasting impression.

Sizewell C has been given the go ahead – and that’s fantastic news for Suffolk!

Here at Podtalk UK we produce podcasts for individuals and companies one of those companies is VARTAN Consultancy and this year we had the opportunity to put together a couple of inspiring podcasts links below.

This landmark project isn’t just a win for the UK’s energy future — it’s a huge boost for our county.

From thousands of new jobs to apprenticeships, supply chain opportunities and long-term investment, the impact on Suffolk’s economy, communities and talent pipeline will be felt for decades.

We were lucky enough to explore this in a recent episodes of The VARTAN Consultancy podcast, featuring Miles Vartan of VARTAN Consultancy and Ashley Shorey-Mills, Sizewell C’s Supply Chain Director, where they shared insights into how local businesses can become suppliers and why this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.
Miles also spoke to Andy Southgate from Nexus Adapt on how he became a Sizewell C supplier.

We hear this question all the time - and here’s the thing - there’s no one-size-fits-all formula.

There are proven strategies that work (no, it’s not just posting soundbites and hoping for the best).

Here are two tips to get you started:
1. Stop promoting your podcast. Start promoting the value of your episodes.
2. Make your content valuable - what's the take-away?

Want the rest of the strategy? That’s where the magic happens - and where we come in - we make and create podcasts and help podcasters turn great shows into discovered shows!

Please get in touch, we'd love to help you grow your podcast.
