Last Night's Action came thick and very fast with the Classic Group 1 cars from the 80's at Spa . With the Mercedes ,Nissan ,Mazda and Prorsche hitting the track .
With a grid of 13 for our 1st one ( another this Monday with 3 spots available) László Nagy took pole position in the Porsche.
With a nice variety of drivers on track it made for some great racing. Lights out at great start from the pole man with Oggy in the Sauber Mercedes taking 2nd away from Craig Cook in another Sauber Mercedes . Down the kemmal Straught the Downforce adjustments worked i others favours as the Nissans and mazda started clawing back the front runners . Early incident in sector 2 sees both David Rushton ans Jaeson Blythe both off but recovered well to get back on the pack. Peter Ekberg and Darren Swift also Oggy in the mix were in there own little battle with Dave King now having to battle with David Ruston .
Thomas Krøyer the only guy in know in 5 years at cc sim racing that still uses motion sensor on his pad to race was doing a superb job and his 1st race with us on GT7 since our early stages of CC Sim Racing with Project Cars!.
New guy Lewis Fisher new to our way of racing wasnt feeling to well but reallt did put in the effort to make as much of the race as possible and thrown in thw deep end also did a great job but had to retire the car . Jaeson Blythe was now hunting down drivers from 13th made his way into 6th and challenging or as he says " having a slight taste of podium ".
Pit lane was open after 10 minutes and drivers came in for fresh set of rubber and out they went within the 10 minute period ( 10 - 20 min mark ) Craig left his pitstop a little later to try close the gap on the leader of lacko and work led from 4 seconds now down to 1.2 and the fight was back on . 40 minutes into the race and the 2 upfront were nose to tail but cook qas finding it hard to pass the Hungarian lacko with the aero change in the dirty air and making mistakes. Coning into turn 1 the opportunity arrived for Cook until........ he spun the car round and now 8 seconds down with 20 to go it was a tough ask .
Laps from 2.05 to 2.02 the pace was frantic . With another drievr but has been a member of cc sim racing for some time now Sean Conroy who was also enjoy his 1st outing and pace was good , Qualifying 3rd on the grid but couple of mistakes dropped him down a few positions .
Peter Ekberg was also enjoy multiple Purple Sector 1's as we all had a laugh in the chat .
Swifty was having a very quiet race in 3rd but it all changed with Ekberg now taking that position off swifty . Ryan was enjoying his outing again few mistakes costing him but was able to keep a steady pace for most of the race which was not easy in any way !.
2nd round of pistops and now the gap at the front was closing , again lacko went in early and Cook stayed out till the last moment and now the gap that was around 8 seconds and a really good inlap was now down to a mere 3.5 and the hunt was on !. With 6 minutes to go it happend a mistake into the bustop chicane gave Cook another chance to go for the lead and sat behind the Porsche Driver and down Kemmal straight was the opportunity to lead the race and hold on to the end .
Meanwhile a shock to the system as ekberg though he was comfortable to then find as he exited the pits seen swifty and Jaeson in pursuit of thst podium si had to get his skates on !.
The battles going on that we could hear in chat was that of Dave King and David Rushton who sounded like they wer having a blast aswell as the mention of the earlier 360 degree spin ekberg did the applause of dave king confirming it was nicely done :).
1lap to go and Lacko pushed hard to try get onto the back of Cook but a late mistake and "Noooo" in the ear was enough to seal the win for Cook in the Sauber Mercedes .
Lacko finished 2nd in the Porsche and 3rd was Peter Ekberg in the Nissan
