After a turbulent first encounter, forces them to live under the same roof, an unlikely romance begins to blossom.

Ekaette Goes To School is a 2014 comedy starring Ini Edo alongside Bob Manuel Udokwu. Ini Edo shines in the role of Selina, also known as Ekaette, as the illiterate wife of Onuwa (Udokwu). Unable to read or write in English, Selina’s life takes a dramatic turn after a humiliating moment when she could not sign for a parcel delivered to her husband. Determined to change her circumstances, she sets out to pursue a basic education.

Written by Emeka Nnakihe and directed by MacColins Chidede, the film is complemented by a fitting soundtrack that enhances its storytelling. Edo delivers a standout performance, nailing Selina’s Calabar accent and bringing both humour and authenticity to the role. The Return of Jenifa is a 2011 comedy and sequel to Jenifa (2008), starring Funke Akindele as she reprises her iconic role of Suliat, the village girl from Ayetoro, navigating life in Lagos. Directed by Muhydeen S. Ayinde, the sequel takes Jenifa’s story in a more urban and contemporary direction, moving beyond her village antics into city life where she mingles with a vibrant youth culture — a lifestyle that brings her into contact with the high and mighty as well as top music stars.....
.....Since the release of The Return of Jenifa in 2011, which grossed around ₦30 million despite a limited cinema run, Funke akindele has consistently raised the bar in Nigerian box office history by breaking her own records. She first set a new benchmark in 2020 with Omo Ghetto: The grossing ₦636 million to become the highest-grossing Nigerian film at the time, only to surpass it with Battle on Buka Street in 2022 at ₦668 million. In 2023/24, she made history again with A Tribe Called Judah, as the first Nollywood film to cross the billion-naira mark, grossing over ₦1.4 billion. SCREENNOLLY THROWBACK - AJALOLERU

Ajaloleru is a 2013 movie starring Funke akindele Odunlade Adekola and Taiwo Hassan Ogogo in a gripping family drama.

The story follows Dewunmi (Akindele), the widow of Lakunle Laditi (Adekola), whose life is thrown into turmoil after her husband’s death. Instead of offering support, her in-laws, Akanbi (Dayo Adewunmi) and Salewa (Toyin Afolayan), turn against her, expelling her and the children from their home and seizing control of Lakunle’s assets, including a thriving hotel.

But their greed is short-lived. Fate intervenes, restoring Dewunmi’s dignity and rightful inheritance through Ayobami (Ogogo), a saviour figure who not only helps her reclaim what is hers but also offers her a chance at love again.

Produced and directed by Lanre, Ajaloleru also features Rasaq Olayiwola, Sunny Alli, and others, making it a stirring tale of betrayal, justice, and redemption

Su***de Mission (1998) is a classic Nollywood romantic thriller starring Richard Mofe-Damijo Regina Askia, and Ameze Imarhiagbe.

Written by Teco Benson and Sonny Collins, the film follows Monique, a young woman entangled in an affair with a married man, Austine (RMD). Unsatisfied with being just a mistress, Monique turns to fe**sh powers to secure his love. Under her spell, Austine abandons his devoted wife, Winnie (Imarhiegbe), and their three children, choosing Monique instead.

But Monique’s hunger doesn’t end with taking over the home. She wants Austine dead, and his wealth all to herself. What she doesn’t know is that her dangerous game comes with a price she can’t afford.

Directed by Fred Amata, Su***de Mission also features strong performances from Patrick Doyle, Pat Attah, and Peter Bunor Jnr.
