This weather has been all over the place, coat on for the school run in the morning and T-shirt by pick-up time! I’m not complaining though I need by vitamin D fixes… as long as it’s not raining, I’m happy.

“How do I make my grid look less jumbled when I sell so many different things?”
That’s a question I hear all the time!

The trick isn’t to stop posting variety, it’s to tie everything together with visual triggers. These are the little, consistent elements that make people instantly think of you.

For me, it’s things like:
❥ Me (showing up on camera!)
❥ My iPhone & MacBook
❥ Instagram icon
❥ My film clapperboard or ring light
❥ Pink vibes through colours & accents
❥ Leopard print stationery 🩷🐆
❥ Clean, modern white lifestyle locations

By weaving these into my content, my grid feels cohesive even when I’m talking about different services, tips, or client work.

♡ A few tips for you:
❥ Pick 3–5 visual triggers that represent your brand vibe.
❥ Use them repeatedly in photos, props, or graphics.
❥ Plan your posts in a grid view so you can see the balance before hitting publish.

💡 Pro tip:
Make notes of your own visual triggers and rotate them across your week. Aim to have them shown clearly in your 9-grid view so that a new visitor instantly gets a feel for what you’re about.

A very rare and personal share from me today…

With our littles back at school, getting into routine again feels like it’s been far longer than 7 weeks.

Having my daughter Amalie by my side during that very first year of business in Covid was tough. So I’m rewinding to Summer 2019, to my business why and the inspiration behind my branding colours.

This iconic pink leopard print dress is the exact reason I chose my brand colours. I literally lifted the two pink HEX codes from it. 💕
I loved the dress so much that I even bought it in two different sizes just so I could seeing her wearing it for longer!

And then there was the lipstick car moment… one I’ll never forget. My little darling managed to get hold of my Chanel compact mirror and brand new red lipstick 💄 while sat in the front of the car (I’d only turned my back to get her buggy from the boot). By the time I came back, the mirror was snapped, lipstick destroyed, and Amalie beaming with pride saying: “I look like Mummy.” 😆😂😞🫣🥲

The lipstick may be long gone, but the dress lives on….. I upcycled the fabric into a headband, which I proudly wore during that first year of business.

A little reminder:
stay connected to your business why and don’t be afraid to share your story. You never know who it might inspire.

My story

I’m Donna. The face behind DONNA HERTS SOCIAL.

I offer Virtual Assistants and Social Media services to busy entrepreneurs by them outsourcing the tasks.

Becoming a parent gave me a new purpose in life. I wanted as much time with my daughter as possible before she goes off to school so decided to change careers. She is the reason why my business exists.

I wanted a career that would allow businesses and I to have a work-life balance whilst avoiding social overwhelm. Now I get to combine my passion and expertise.

My love for Social Media, Art, Fashion and Photography lead me to embrace a change of direction. December 2019, I completed the Foundation in Social Media Management course with @DigitalMums. This kicked off the remote learning buzz, then webinars, research and life coaching sessions made me decide my direction.

22 years of retail management taught me, many transferable skills to run my own business.

Your customers always have to be your number 1 priority and the forefront of your mind and decision making. I saw so many changes in the fast paced fashion world. Customer shopping habits changed considerably the past 5 years.

March 2020, (two weeks before CV-19 was a thing), I launched my business. I’d spent too long deciding on a perfect fit name and the right time to launch.

Most recently, I’ve specialising working with Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle businesses. I’m finding businesses who are as enthusiastic about their products, services and success online as much as I am.
