Adjustments are a Manchester based three-piece, formed in 2023. Their atypical line up makes for a fascinating proposition: Tara Gabriella Engelhardt on vocals and drums, with dual electric guitars from Lewis Johnson-Kellett and Finn Cohen-Ennis.

In reviews, the group have drawn comparisons with a wide range of bands, from Television to Mazzy Star, to Sonic Youth. In truth however, with their shifting time signatures and unorthodox song structures, Adjustments have forged something truly individual.

The opening lines of ’Yr New Shoes’ provide clear evidence that their lyrics are smart, insightful and often bruising in their honesty:’ You’re looking at me, like I’m the sun in your eyes. I can’t be too bright right? You told me that before.’ Meanwhile, the group’s guitar lines weave together to create a rich sonic mesh.

The flip side ‘Moon Eyes’ is an altogether more psychedelic beast, its chiming guitars reminiscent of Horsegirl, with a vocal that speaks of emotional uncertainty within a fragile relationship: ’Sitting on the edge of my bed, trying not to think what goes on in your head.’

This is Adjustments’s second vinyl outing. They released their beguiling debut single ‘Bendy A’ back in September 2024, on the Before Indie label, and its power and charm did not go unnoticed.

With serene chords and its subtle trading of vocals between husband and wife Dave and Kerrie Hughes, the song stands as a glow of optimism in these dark times.

This is the first time ‘Everything Is Going To Be Alright’ has been available on vinyl, whilst the flip side features an exclusive new remix that elevates the song’s more ambient and spectral qualities, creating an iteration that is as gentle and balming as the title suggests.

The song is featured prominently in the comedy stage show Ideal, starring Johnny Vegas, which tours the UK in September and October 2025.

Heaven’s Lathe are very pleased to be able to release this second lathe-cut single from BRRDS, following on from their gorgeous ‘In My Room’ (HL9).

Saint Jimmy 'O is a chilling electro-folk ballad, about
the horrific bogeyman of West Yorkshire: Jimmy Savile.
Inspired by disturbing 1960s black and white footage
of the DJ leading a group of children down a hillside in
a small village where he kept his caravan, as though he
had cast a dreadful spell. With a title suggested by the
author Ben Myers (The Gallows Pole, The Offing) the
song sets Fage’s pure tones over a bubbling lake of
electronics.
