As a dog owner, I understand beware of dog very well. You can’t come to someone’s gate, see that sign, and the person will still be shouting, “Come inside, don’t worry!” Ma’am/Sir, I will not enter. You put the sign there for a reason.
Dogs are meant to guard the compound and keep intruders out — that’s their assignment.
And just like that, God has given peace an assignment in our lives.
The Bible says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6–7
So on my heart gate, it’s not “beware of dog.”
It’s beware of PEACE — because peace is standing guard, blocking anxiety, fear, and every intruder trying to enter where it does not belong.
