Text: Luke 4:18-19 NKJV
[18] “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; [19] To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Today, you have homework or an assignment, if you will, pause and read Luke 4:18–19 again. Meditate on it. Tell yourself: "This is why Jesus came. He came for me. Every word of this prophecy—He fulfilled it for me."

REMEMBER ME
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ Likewise, He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.’” - Luke 22:19-20, NKJV

Every time we break the bread, every time we lift the cup, it’s not just another communion service. It’s a reminder. But what exactly are we supposed to remember about Jesus?

The Final Act

When He had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that, He bowed His head and gave up His spirit."
(John 19:30, NIV)

We’ve talked about the sacrifices Jesus made—the beating, the scorn, the suffering—but none of it would have meant anything if He hadn’t finished it. The final act, the ultimate sacrifice, was His death on the cross.

Saturday, April 12 - Stripes for Healing

Excerpt - But the amazing thing is that the Bible doesn’t even dwell on this phenomenal event of great pain. Matthew just says, “Pilate handed Him over to be scourged” (Matthew 27:26). No details. No slow-motion close-ups. Just… “He was flogged.” Like it was a footnote. I believe it’s because the pain wasn’t the point. The purpose was.

Topic - Bruised for you
Scripture - Isaiah 53:5

But here’s the thing: some of us did know. We committed real crimes—sin upon sin—and Jesus did the time for us. The Bible says He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities. We strayed from God’s path, ignored His principles, yet Jesus paid the price.

April 10 Devotional
'He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.' Isaiah 53:7
Beloved, Jesus had a defense—a flawless one. But that wasn’t the time for it. He needed those accusations for your freedom. He needed the crucifixion for your salvation. Every step He took was necessary. Every wound He bore was worth it.

Scripture: 'that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. '
-Romans 10:9-10

Beloved, ask yourself this: Is Jesus really Lord over your life? Does He really own you? Is He really in control of all that concerns you, or are you the Lord of yourself?

April 4th Devotional

Beloved, if you find yourself stuck in a storm and losing time instead of making progress, do not be afraid, God is a restorer. When that season is complete, He will accelerate you by His power and the years that the canker worm, the palmer worm, the locust, the wild beast have eaten and devoured, He will restore.

April 2nd Devotional

Scripture: 'Immediately He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent the multitude away. And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray. Now when evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea; and He was alone on the land. Then He saw them straining at rowing, for the wind was against them. Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and would have passed them by. ' -Mark 6:45-48

A Little Thirsty

‘Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”’ -JOHN 4:13-15

So it’s noon and the Samaritan woman just arrived by the well. She left her house to go to Jacob’s well to draw water and there she meets this strange man, a jew, asking her to give him a drink of water. He wants water, she wants water, and there is a well there.

This woman needed more water than just the one from the well. All her life she has been living in thirst and needed a refreshing drink. She. has had five husbands and is living with her boyfriend, clearly, she was thirsty for something.
