I don't create social media content for my clients. 🤔

I mean, yeah I do, but I needed a decent headline for this post.

So, I create the posts for (or with) them, schedule them, and manage the accounts, and the client pays the invoice... but I don't do it for the client. I do it for 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 clients, or potential clients. The people who truly and genuinely need to find them to help solve a problem they have, or bring more pleasure into their life.

Mr FOMO, Andi, really enjoyed hosting the annual quiz for last night. There were some classic rounds where questions were asked and answered, and the traditional name that song round (Disney classics), but added in were a few extra challenges... 🦩 The Flamingo-Off saw a few injuries, but was still worth it.

They say you should never meet your heroes, but I did this weekend. And I think in some ways, so did he.

Just kidding. My real hero is Animal from The Muppets - a character who can play the drums and has the humility to live in a bin.

"The ‘remote vs office’ debate is over - we’ve all found our happy place! Err, well, no." Did you spot this insightful post from Ben Scoggins, CEO at Organic - a tenant here at the Park. Ben goes on to say: "Research published by the Advertising Association in May claimed that two thirds of Adland want to work 2 days a week or less in the office… just as Adland leaders are mandating more, not less, office-based time.
Amazon, Barclays, Boots UK and J.P. Morgan have recently announced full office returns. And that’s just the start - last month a survey of 500 HR professionals found that 90% of companies plan to implement return-to-office policies by the end of 2024.

The lines of argument for and against office-based working are well drawn and yet strikingly similar: Proponents of flexible working claim that it makes for a 'happier, healthier and more productive workforce'. Meanwhile, those arguing for an office return claim that it - yes, you’ve guessed it - makes for a 'happier, healthier and more productive workforce'.

Truth is, there is no truth. There remains a lack of meaningful data, some deeply-held personal beliefs, and oodles of nuance that muddies the waters. As a result, the office/flexible debate is likely to rumble on for a bit longer yet."

The variety of our work at FOMO Content makes it much more fun... We've had the pleasure of working with James and Lucy at Mortgage Monkeys for many months now, but this recent project we're working on together is totally brill! James and a group of 5 others are cycling almost 1000 miles, from the Hook of Holland, following the course of the Rhine (and a bit more beyond!). They're doing this all to raise funds for Pete's Dragons, a charity based in Exmouth that supports those impacted by su***de - a charity that in fact helped some children I was teaching back in my classroom days, who had lost parents.

They did invite me to join them, but given the daily grind of 80+ miles on the road, I felt I was better placed to support by making sure their social media activity was up to date (daily posts and stories), keeping everyone on board with the adventure, and supporting the fundraising as much as possible. So far, they've raised almost £1,500 - just about halfway to their target total.
