Top indicators you need support while running webinars!
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼:
Well there's the instant stressors - "The screen's frozen! I can't hear anyone! Is my mic on? They get the adrenaline going, a little bit of panic sets in, disrupting your flow, making you feel unprofessional and knock your confidence just a little, at the time in the webinar when you should be feeling your confident best-self.
You start the webinar, then you have the late-comers, so you stop your content, announce to your attendees "I'm just going to let some additional guests in". Your audience don't care! All they know is they are on hold while your focus is elsewhere.
You then re-start your content, probably with a bit of a re-cap for the late-comers. The OGs are now rolling their eyes because they've got to listen to part of your intro again.
Oh then, someone's dog is barking or kids are screaming in the background, because they're not on "mute". So you stop your flow again to ask your attendees to mute themselves. Now, where were you? All this and you're only 5 minutes in!
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁 & 𝗤&𝗔:
The chat is popping. You're chuffed with the engagement, after all 'dry' webinars are hard going to enthusiastically deliver. You don't want to miss key questions but you also need to focus on delivering your content. So you choose to focus on your content and ignore the chat for now. It's ok, you can come back to it later, right?
So later comes along, you spend your time scrolling through to find the questions that are important to address, trying to skip over the duplicates and the questions that don't make any sense on your skim read. While you're doing that, there's dead air time, so you fill it by creating a running commentary on your scroll.
The attendees are bored, thinking what an inefficient use of their time this is. Engagement drops off (attendees have just gone to pop the kettle on), or worse, they've left, which means by the time you've got to your lead magnet content, you've basically lost lots of opportunity.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆:
You're so drained from trying to do everything, you can barely remember what you said! Intense multi-tasking has detracted from your ability to focus on delivering your valuable content with energy and enthusiasm, ultimately diminishing the quality and impact of their webinar.
𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗪𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿:
You run through the questions that were asked and find out you missed answering some. Someone asking about your premium package, about offerings, requests for more information, or even direct purchase enquiries. So now you've got a whole host of emails to send, when you could have addressed them live and seized that opportunity.
