Well after 5-weeks, last night was the final session of our Over-16s training at YMCA North Staffordshire .

Big 👏 to all the young people who attended and got fully involved in the process. It's been great to work alongside such a fantastic community and delving into the world of podcasting.

🗣However, podcasting is just the tool, the vehicle. At the core of the training it is about building confidence, communication skills, increasing social value and equity in voice. It's about engaging, listening and empowering people and communities to 'Do it For Themselves'.

📣Now it's onto August and our Under 16s back at YMCA North Staffordshire 🎙🎧 🥳

The Manège Outdoor Arts Space 🐎 🎨

Today is the fourth day of our week long highlight of last year's winners. Here we focus on Leading.

Through their transformative Associates Leadership Programme, A.H.I. provides paid, professional development for creatives, encouraging confidence and talent in a sector that rarely offers such opportunities. Underground Lights Community Theatre - Winner Welcoming
Underground Lights is a beacon of creativity and support for adults facing social disadvantage, homelessness, or mental health issues in Coventry and Warwickshire. This small yet impactful charity provides a warm, inclusive environment, running drama workshops that allow members to rediscover themselves, build confidence, and develop new skills. With a trauma-informed approach, Underground Lights celebrates each person’s unique strengths and creativity, rejecting labels to build a compassionate community. Their “Lights Up!” project, co-created by members, showcases their ethos, giving participants a platform to perform and grow as artists. Many describe Underground Lights as a lifeline, a place that transforms self-perception and promotes lasting positive change, including paths toward employment and education.
