Who owns Africa’s past?
Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama is calling for a permanent international system to restore African cultural heritage, remove legal barriers to returning artefacts, and unconditionally return African human remains.
But this debate goes beyond museums.
It raises bigger questions about colonialism, reparations, ownership, and who gets to decide where Africa’s heritage belongs.
