🥺 So sad to hear about the Retirement and closure of Elm Nursery 🥺 Elm Farm Cafe and Elm Nursery

Please see below message from the owners -
*It is with very heavy hearts that we have made the decision to retire and to close Elm Nursery.
After 42 years of 7 days a week, we are finally hanging up our wellies.

The farm, shop, plant nursery and Elm Farm Cafe , will be all be closing on Friday 5th September, 2025.

Running a business like ours is a lifestyle, not just a job. It’s been 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, making it extremely hard for us as a family to enjoy anything but ‘work life’ together. Now we would like to relax, breath and enjoy. We are taking most of the animals with us and those that aren’t are being rehomed to friends & family*

We found the perfect place to cool off on a hot day 💦🦆

Have you heard of the picturesque village of Shere?
Since I was little we’ve been visiting here to paddle in the stream, and Noah and Bella absolutely love it 💦

The stream is the perfect depth for children to splash around in and cool off there feet. Previously we’ve seen tadpoles and even crayfish in the water too.

Although we were prepared with our nets and buckets today, we sadly didn’t see any. We did however have fun feeding the ducks 🦆

Plus if you’ve got a four legged friend - it’s the perfect place for them to paddle and chase after a stick too 🐶

This is our favourite FREE activity to do. Why not take a picnic and sit along the bank whilst the little ones paddle.

Now this is a game changer 👏🏻

Please say I’m not the only one who didn’t know this? 😱

We love the roller suncream as gives the kids independence of applying it themselves & it's so much easier and less messy!

BUT I only found out today that you can actually refill the suncream bottles 🤦🏼‍♀️

How did I not notice this before?!….. The roller lid comes off and you can top up the suncream!!

⭐️We had a fantastic day here, and there is so much for the younger children to enjoy. Lots of interactive elements which really engaged the young minds. We can’t wait to visit when they are slightly older, and see what other driving experiences they can do.

🌳 Fresh air fix, anyone? Bit of a relief not to be quite so hot!

We love this little gem of a playground in Godalming when the kids need to burn off some serious energy and it's got a bit of a fairytale feel.

😅 Bonus: it’s all FREE and perfect for a low-key day out with snacks and a picnic rug.

My friend Carly went to a family raceday at Christmas and had a great time. Always love a tried and test recommendation!

"I’ll be honest, horse racing with the kids wasn’t really something I’d ever considered but we such a fantastic day! They had put a lot into this day, there was a choir, small soft play area and fairground rides.
As well as the additional entertainment there was also the horse racing itself. The kids had a great time choosing their favourite horse and cheering them on watching the races, it was a really fun family activity! 🐎

With our ticket we were able to take in a picnic (and a bottle of wine 🥂) so we were able to keep the spending money down if we needed to. But there a wide range of food and drink vendors so plenty of yummy stuff to try.

Ascot family day really was so much fun, and it was such a different thing to do as a family. I think it is going to have to be a firm fixture on our festive calendar moving forward! I’d definitely recommend checking out their Summer Family Raceday"
