Is Imposter Syndrome a curse? Or is it a reflection of some really positive traits? Maybe it's time we flip the narrative and stop telling ourselves that having I.P. suggests something's off about us, but instead reflects some humble and awesome qualities.

I wish I could go back 15 years and give myself this advice. I was forever comparing myself to others which created a major obstacle whenever I was trying to come up with ideas for videos. I always felt like I would fail to live up to other's expectations.

What I failed to realise is that I had a unique message to share, so comparing myself to others was a pointless exercise. Ultimately, whatever you make is going to be unique because you're the one making it, and expectations is not a healthy metric to measure your success against.

It’s been a while since I have made an emotional piece of content…something that sends shivers down my neck as I’m writing the words on the page or picturing the scenes in mind. So, I’m reaching out to bands / artists who may be looking for their next music video. 📽️

I’m particularly interested in those whose song grabs you by the feels and has room for a story to go with it.

If that’s you and you have a small budget to go towards the production, I’d like to hear from you x

You can PM me or email me at [email protected] with your song/s of choice. If you want to see some of my work visit philbeastall.co.uk

This week has been a test and a half. Add a hamstring strain into the mix during today’s sweat fest of a run session….But I’m still smiling ☺️ A couple of days rest and I’m sure I’ll be back on it again 🏃🏼‍♂️💨

One of the biggest mistakes I see in brand videos is the urge to say everything at once..every product benefit, every stat, every message.

But when we try to include it all, we dilute the very thing that makes a video powerful: how it makes you feel.

If your audience feels something, they’re far more likely to act. So instead of asking “what do we need to say?”, ask “what do we want them to feel?”

That shift alone can transform the way your content connects.

This might be a controversial thing to say but...we’ve been sold a lie - that if we work hard enough, believe in ourselves, and “want it” badly enough, we’ll be incredible.

But here’s the truth: When everyone is told they can be incredible, we end up chasing a bar that keeps moving. And if we’re not careful, we measure our worth against something almost no one can reach.

This pressure to always stand out and to always be more isn’t motivating, it’s exhausting. It’s hurting our mental health and it’s keeping us from feeling proud of what’s already enough.

Ambition is powerful but it needs boundaries. Otherwise, we mistake burnout for bravery.

When we create, we often ask ourselves “has this been done before? Is it good enough? Will anyone care?”

But the truth is…it hasn’t been done before because you haven’t done it before. And your voice brings something no one else can.

🎭 Let’s Talk About Imposter Syndrome

I’ve felt it. You’ve probably felt it too. That creeping voice that says,

“You’re not good enough.”
“Someone’s going to find you out.”
“You don’t belong here.”

Even after directing big projects, going viral, and getting recognition, I’ve still had moments where I questioned everything.

But here’s what I’ve learned: Imposter syndrome doesn’t mean you’re not qualified. It usually means you care.

In this video, I share a few thoughts on how I’ve learned to live with it and keep creating anyway.

If you’ve ever second-guessed your place in the room, I hope this lands.

🎄 The Christmas Film That Changed Everything

Back in 2014, I made a Christmas short film with no budget and no big backing. It was just a story I believed in.

It quietly sat online for a few years… until I re-released it in 2018.
And then it exploded. It gathered millions of views in a few days, global attention within a week and provided me with life-changing opportunities.

In this video, I take you behind the scenes of that journey - what inspired it, how we made it happen, and what I’ve learned about patience, timing, and trusting your gut as a creative.

If you’re sitting on a project you believe in but feel like the world hasn’t noticed yet…this one’s for you.
