A fantastic weekend without the children in London.
We stayed at The Rembrandt Hotel
A lovely hotel in a great location opposite the natural history museum.
Unfortunately one of our neighbours decided to throw a party in the early hours. The hotel acted quickly to move us to an upgraded club suite room. Wasn’t quite the full nights sleep we had hoped for.
We watched The Book of Mormon - Musical
Not for children! Hilariously funny if you have the right sense of humour. Laughed out loud all the way through.
We ate at Dishoom my absolute favourite place to eat. Great service and was seated quickly. The food is next level if you’ve not tried then you’re missing out!
Drinks The Kensington Hotel in The K Bar a great selection of cocktails served with delicious olives and nuts.
Post theatre we stumbled across Bocca Lounge it was their opening night and they very kindly let us in for a drink amongst their family and friends.
We were treated to a couple of cakes served with dry ice for that real Instagram moment.
Hopefully somewhere we can return to in the future.

Anyone looking for a little something different for dining at home we recently purchased meal kit. It is certainly worth a try. We had the Alice in wonderland themed meal.6 delicious courses that take up to no more than 5 minutes to plate and cook each course. The experience was so professionally presented. The box included a QR code to scan which takes you to a video on how to cook and plate each course. A fantastically designed menu to entice your guests into the meal ahead and a bottle of wine. I can’t wait to see the next dish’s they release.

I’ve been horse trekking on a hen and it was great. 🐎 Huge thanks to Derbyshire Pony Trekking for matching us all up with some great horses and ponies. This would be a brilliant activity for families as the horse trek is suitable for children from the age of 4 up. Derbyshire Pony trekking is based just outside of Mansfield and the trek takes you completely off road through the woods. All abilities are catered for and was reasonably priced. Wow what a treat today was at the spa Ye Olde Bell Hotel. I can highly recommend, amazing food and a lovely relaxing day. There are 5 different experience rooms plus a snow shower and rainfall shower walk. Plenty of places to lounge inside and outside. There are also further two rooms that looked great a vitamin D beach room and a mud rasul room. Which I believe you can pay extra for on the day.
Hoping to visit again soon!

Some might say it’s the best fish and chips you’ll ever have. I’d totally agree . didn’t vote this his favourite restaurant of all time for nothing.
I love returning home for fish and chips it never tastes right anywhere else, there is only one place I’m going for the full works. I over ate double helpings of bread and butter the lot.
The restaurant always offers that old school kind of service you just don’t get anymore. The time warp of the restaurant doesn’t just deliver on great food and service but also memories.
Thanks again for a great dining experience we’ll see you again soon!

Another fantastic evening out for dinner 🐟🦀🦐 The Old Boathouse Restaurant, Red Wharf Bay
Starter: We shared mussels and haddock fish cake.
The mains: kids fish and chips, adults fish and chips, prawn and crab linguini and homemade fish pie. All of the food was fantastic! Great service from the team. It’s becoming our tradition to eat here on our final night.

I really enjoyed the Oysters 🦪 and Lobster🦞. Lillia enjoyed the burger 🍔and Vincent had children’s fish and chips 🐟🍟
Such a beautiful venue as well with fantastic views. Perfect weather for sitting on the terraced. Staff were very attentive and the food is some of the best I have had. Looking forward to adding this restaurant to our regular to visit places when we return next time. Thank you again Oystercatcher

Greenwood Forest Park is one of our favourite places to visit whilst we are in Anglesey. The concept and values that the park upholds are fantastic. The theme park is virtually run and powered by renewable energy. From the boat ride that you row yourself around to the rollercoaster which, you would normally walk to the top of a hill to get into a lift to push the ride up into place. (Unfortunately or luckily you only have to do the short walk at the minute due to restrictions in small spaces.) I think my favourite ride has and I think will walkways be the barefoot sensory trail. Watching the kids squirm and scream at the textures under their feet still makes laugh every time I think about it. 🦶
Looking forward to returning again soon. Hopefully Vincent will be feeling a little more brave for some of the bigger rides next time we are back. 🌳🎢

Our stay Alton Towers
Lots of brilliant entertainment inside CBeebies Land Hotel and within the resort. Only guests staying at CBeebies land hotel are allowed access to the hotel which stops over crowding of the entertainment areas. Bit of an issue if you plan on having an additional adult or child over 5ft stay with you as the bunk beds are not big enough. Bathroom was like an ice rink after the kids had bathed there are no non slip bath mats in the bathroom
Windmill restaurant was great plenty of variety for buffet breakfast. We were supposed to eat at the rollercoaster restaurant for tea however an issue with the extractor fans meant it had to close. The team were very accommodating though and organised for us to eat and drink for free elsewhere within the resort.
Our tip is to book everything way in advance as peak dinning times book up so quick. If you plan to visit splash landings I’d suggest doing this day one of your visit then you’ll have time to get full use out of the hotels entertainment and you’ll get early access into the theme park on the second day.
Overall great trip and I’m sure we will be returning again soon. 🎢 🏨

Last night we ate out Citadel Lincoln and what a great night we had. Food was fantastic both Ash and I had fillet steak. The kids dined of the children’s menu £6 per meal. The menu included pizza, fish fingers, chicken nuggets and sausages. Portion sizes were suitable I’d say for children up to 10-11 years. Fruit shoots were available for younger ones as well as high chairs
The variety of cocktails and drinks was great plenty to choose from. The place had a great atmosphere the right amount of busy. Service from the team was fantastic everyone was super friendly and attentive.
We will certainly be heading back again soon to try out their burgers or light bites with a few cocktails. 🍹🥩
