After doing the BYD on Friday, yesterday I battled the sun and heat to detail and ceramic coat a MK2 Ford Focus ST, a car I had a strong yearning for, once upon a time. In fact I came relatively close to buying this exact car.

I was pleased with level of scratches I was able to remove with a stage one polish and the car looks awesome with the coating applied. The owner was very happy with the outfit, as am I 👍🏽.

This is probably the only content you'll see from me when it comes to BYD, and BYD didn't pay me for this 😅. A friend of mine recently acquired this and wanted a ceramic coating on it.

Although it's a new car it still needed prep work and I spotted a scratch on the roof, so I machine polished that out and it's like it was never there! This was the first coating applied to a car that's not mine and it was a little daunting, but thankfully .uk is user-friendly. I was happy with the results and so is my friend Rob 👍🏽.

I was meant to share this a few weeks ago, but I kept forgetting 😅. A few Thursdays ago marked 5 years to the day that I've owned . This is probably the ONLY car I've bought with my head rather than my heart and it's been a car that needed some inspiration (I.E. mods) to make this in to something a bit special.

Yes, I've toyed about with the idea of selling several times but when all is said and done, I still enjoy driving him, offers just about enough practicality, and touch wood, hasn't wanted for too much.

This is not a forever car, but in a world of modern cars that have more tech than they need and not much soul to go with it, this car strikes a good balance between being analogue enough whilst offering a decent amount of mod cons. Here's to you, Leo.

Day 2 in the : Today I was able to give the car a more thorough drive than yesterday, and first impressions are good. It flows nicely over the road, it's comfortable and when you meet a corner it's competent, given it's size and weight.

Santa has come in July! This week I'm testing the new hybrid, which is essentially Hyundai's version of the Kia Sorento I tested earlier this year (content from that still isn't produced 🙈). The Sorento is a good looking car but I think I prefer the Santa Fe.

Last week I painted brake calipers for the first time and this week was another first - ceramic coating. was the guinea pig for the and .uk CanCoat Evo was the product.

I was going to film it but to be honest, I wanted to focus on the application, plus CanCoat Evo is well documented online anyway.

It's easy product but the prep is super important as a surface that isn't completey free of contamination will cause the coating not to bond properly. It came out well, as you can see, but some areas will need re-applying as it's not quite perfect.

Now I've done it once I'll a lot more confident on the next time I use this.

Blimey, a BMW?! Yes, I know, it's a rarity I feature this brand on the channel. A friend of mine recently acquired this and offered me the chance to review it. I had been curious about the new wave of M135 (I.E. four-cylinder xDrive) for sometime, and seeing as I'm a sucker for a sporty hatch I took him up on his offer.

I was more impressed than I expected and although it's not the same car as the F20/F21 M135i, it's still more than able to hold its own. The video will come...erm...at some point (I have a sizeable editing backlog 😬)

What a difference a weekend makes! The last 3-4 weeks I've been progressively been getting lower and lower, to the point my mental health was the worst it's been in years, leaving me in a dark place.

However, a packed weekend and some conversations later it feels like I've endured the storm.

Friday after work I cleaned a colleague's Transit, giving me a chance to test out the .uk Ceramix shampoo 👌🏽.

Saturday I did something I've never done before, painted brake calipers for another colleague on his Audi A5. Not a PERFECT finish but I'm pleased with the outcome and so is he 👍🏽. From there, I had just enough time for a shower and it was up to Wembley Stadium to see Linkin Park - what a awesome gig!

Sunday I topped it off by going to Classic Touring Cars at Brands Hatch.

Needless to say, I'm feeling the effects of the weekend but my word was it worth it 🤙🏽.

So Aaron, what did you do on the longest, hottest day of the year? Erm I cleaned TWO cars 😅. Although it was a hot challenge, it's just what I needed after another challenging week for my mental health. The Leon Cupra R belongs to a colleague ( )whom you would have briefly seen in my MX-5 timing belt as he helped me get the job done.

I offered to clean his car to repay the favour, do here we are. Far from ideal conditions, but on the plus side, it encouraged me to get a move on, so I actually did the work in decent time. The first photo of products is what used for the clean.

Next up, needed just a little tickle as she'll be on display with tomorrow at Thruxton Retro, and as you can see, she needed a lot less products 😅.

Ah, I do like a cheap and cheerful fix/mod. The washers on have been a bit rubbish for a long time, and after seeing the washer jets advertised on Insta I did a buy. This was just as well, because a few days after I placed the order, both washer jets become blocked.

Yes, I could have spent time trying to unblock but it seemed pointless when I had new jets on the way. Getting the old ones out was a bit fiddly, but getting the new ones in were a breeze and more importantly, they work!

Yesterday was as long as it was awesome. I took myself and up to to learn how to detail. I had been looking forward to this day for weeks and the only drawback is that it went too fast.

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills as well as honing the ones I already have. Robin and Yannick ( ) have plenty of knowledge, offer a fun, laid back environment and are very welcoming. I walked with some microfibres which is handy as you can never have enough!

I'd thoroughly recommend the training and I simply can't wait to start the edit 👍🏽.

Another car clean, this time it's a 2005 E60 BMW 5 Series, which looks as if it hasn't seen a wash mitt for quite some time! This belongs to one my colleagues and he was after a routine wash inside and out, although I've made it clear it will definitely need more in the future.

The bodywork is screaming for decontamination, the brake dust on the alloys is so baked on that even Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel couldn't hack it, and the upholstery is heavily stained, therefore needs some serious attention.

Hopefully I'll get the chance to carry out a more thorough clean in the future as I would love to really put my skills to the test and to see how much I can revive this tired looking 530. My colleague was very happy with the result, but me being a bit OCD, I wasn't my most satisfying clean!

Products used:

- Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel
- Sam's Detailing Wheel and Tyre Cleaner
- Stjarnagloss Hjul
- Stjarnagloss Forst
- Autoglym Polar Blast
- Stjarnagloss Bubblor
- Quatum Multi-Purpose Cleaner
- Stjarnagloss Inni
- Autoglym Polar Seal
