We at Loose Mandem are thrilled to announce that we will be in partnership with Checkpoint, Bradford West Indian Community Centre, Bradford Council - and Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture - Bradford 2025 to support a live event called 'The Front Room Talks' presented by our very own hosts, Kamaar Brown and Solomon Gordon.
This long term project will explore 40 + years of Black British West Indian history in the heart of Bradford/UK through a series of different showcasing styles of how life was back then to, how it is this present day.
The event is part one of the project which is called the 'Black experience' which will explore live archive oral recordings whilst Kamaar and Solomon will be interviewing people who were on those recordings and, having a panel of young adults alongside them to discuss certain issues.
This event is free to the public to come along to. You will be able to get a free ticket/ or tickets on EventBrite (the link will be out soon), Kamaar, Solomon or the event organiser. If you do not wish to have get a free ticket/tickets, you are more than welcome to just confirm to the retrospective Individuals that you will be attending.
