Final call for bungalow hopefuls at Bloor Homes’ Felixstowe development

In 2023, The Sunday Times featured Felixstowe as a seaside location to watch. Now, the Suffolk town has witnessed a surge in demand at the new-build development ‘Bloor Homes at Felixstowe’, specifically for single-story living.

The housebuilder has recently confirmed that only two ‘Burford’ bungalows remain at its Felixstowe neighbourhood, as the wider site edges towards a bustling 50% sold since its launch in August 2022.

With a summer offer as tantalising as the season’s shining forecast, Bloor Homes’ Eastern region has welcomed many movers for a summer of coastal indoor/outdoor living with an impressive saving of up to £15,000*. As a result of the Burford’s popularity, the housebuilder has now issued a final call for those interested in single storey living at Felixstowe, urging people to arrange a viewing appointment.

Situated in a private cul-de-sac, the detached, three-bedroom bungalows boast an array of curated characteristics, including:
- Separate lounges with feature bay windows
- Open-plan kitchen and dining areas
- French doors opening onto the rear garden
- Garages and multiple driveway parking spaces
- Master bedrooms with bay windows, en-suites and fitted wardrobes
- Luxury four-piece family bathrooms
- Solar PV panels and electric car charging infrastructure

John Crewdson, Senior Site Manager at Bloor Homes at Felixstowe, has won the National House Building Council’s prestigious Pride in the Job Award five times in the last six years, with the last two recognitions awarded specifically for his work in bringing the neighbourhood to the standard it maintains today.

Describing the final remaining bungalows as ‘quality new homes’, he said: “The Burford plots reside in one of my favourite areas of the development, at the edge in a private cul-de-sac. Built to the high standards of energy-efficiency and specification that we promote across Bloor Homes, the two remaining bungalows at Felixstowe encapsulate my team’s dedication to excellence, as recognised by the NHBC.

“I personally can’t wait to see new homeowners enjoying the blend of indoor/outdoor living that these properties offer, both over the summer months and into the Autumn. I know the future homeowners will hold the same level of appreciation for the Burford bungalow as I do.”

Following a successful Spring surge, Bloor Homes’ Eastern region has launched a summer incentive worth up to £15,000 at its Felixstowe development. With the chance to choose from one of four incentives*, Suffolk home movers have taken advantage of this impressive saving whilst relocating just two miles from Felixstowe Beach and a stone’s throw from direct road and rail links to Ipswich and London.

To arrange a viewing, visit Jubilee Avenue, Walton, Felixstowe, IP110YG, or call 01394 648684.
*£15,000 paid as a lump sum upon legal completion and on selected plots and developments only. Cash lump sum capped at £15,000 total sum. One offer from Deposit Boost, Stamp Duty Contribution, Mortgage Paid and Cashback applicable, not available in conjunction with any other offer. Subject to lender criteria, qualification and acceptance of cash incentives. Only available on new reservations up to 31.8.2025. Speak to your Sales Advisor for more details. Bloor Homes reserves the right to amend or withdraw any promotions or incentives at any given time. Prices and availability correct at time of distribution.

Residents and staff at Foxgrove and Maynell House, two care homes in Felixstowe run by Healthcare Homes, were recently treated to a special visit from a very talented young guest- 15-year-old Charlie Sullivan, who has been selected to represent Team England in an upcoming international baton twirling competition.

Charlie, who will be flying to Turin, Italy next month, is set to compete in two categories: Solo and 2 Baton. Despite heavy rain on the day, he gave a live demonstration of his sport, which combines elements of dance and baton twirling, much to the enjoyment of those watching.

After his demonstration, he spent time with residents, offering one-to-one guidance and helping them have a go at baton twirling themselves.

A member of staff at Maynell House said:
“Charlie was brilliant with the residents. He took time with each person, making sure they felt involved. It was lovely to see everyone giving it a try and having fun"

One resident commented:
“It was a real treat. Charlie was so polite and encouraging. I never thought I’d be twirling a baton at my age, but I really enjoyed it!”

The visit forms part of the ongoing programme of activities and events at Foxgrove and Maynell House, aimed at keeping residents active, engaged, and connected with the wider community.

Everyone at Foxgrove and Maynell House wishes Charlie all the very best as he prepares to represent his country on the international stage.

Residents at Foxgrove (Healthcare Homes) on High Road East in Felixstowe- enjoyed a cheerful start to their Sunday with a visit from this year’s Carnival Royal Court.

The Carnival Queen and Princesses spent time chatting with residents, sharing stories, and answering questions about the upcoming carnival. There were plenty of smiles around the room, and a few residents even had a go at trying on the tiara.

“It was nice to meet them,” said one resident. “We had a nice chat about what they do and how they were chosen. I used to go to the carnival years ago, so it brought back a lot of memories. They were lovely girls - polite, friendly, and they made the effort to speak to everyone.”

Staff at the home said the visit was a real highlight of the weekend and gave everyone something to talk about over lunch.

Foxgrove would like to thank the Royal Court for taking the time to stop by, and we wish everyone involved in the Felixstowe Carnival the best of luck for the weekend ahead.
