Join Science Oxford on a Summer Library Tour for a fun, hands-on nature adventure for families with curious kids!
In a family Minibeast Challenge, discover the tiny creatures hiding in plain sight and learn how to become a real-life ‘Observologist’ — a nature detective who spots insects and minibeasts wherever they go.
With magnifying glasses, field journals, and a sense of adventure, we’ll explore, discover, and celebrate the small but mighty creatures that share our world. Perfect for curious kids and grown-ups who love a good mystery in nature!
Recommended for ages 7-11, children must be accompanied by an adult.
From 28th July, we’re visiting libraries in Blackbird Leys, Littlemore, Carterton, Bicester, Headington, Woodstock, Didcot and Wallingford. The tour is part of the ‘Story Garden’ Summer Reading Challenge in partnership with the Oxfordshire Library service, The Reading Agency, Oxfordshire County Council.
Sessions may be outside in the library gardens, so please bring sun cream and dress for the weather.
Sessions are free, book tickets via the participating library. Limited spaces.
