Are you too scared to show your real self on social media? 😐

💚Perhaps you have lots of friends and family on your socials and you're worried what they will think.

💚Maybe you're self-conscious on camera and don't like showing yourself.

💚You may not like the sound of your own voice

💚You find talking on camera weird and uncomfortable

The truth is - you won't level up your socials or build your community if you're not willing to show up on your socials. Viewers like to know who the person behind the brand is, and if you're not showing yourself, then people won't build a connection to your business or want to support it.

💚Worried what friends and family will think? Screw it! Let me talk if they want to. All you need to do is worry about yourself and your own progress, and if there are 'friends' laughing behind your back, perhaps they shouldn't be your friend.

💚Self-conscious? I get it, it will take time to feel comfortable showing yourself on socials. There's a lot of people that will love you and your content and if there's people that post mean comments, just block them and send them on their way!

💚Don't like the sound of your own voice? I can relate this, when I first started I would keep redoing the audio because the sound of my own voice made me cringe, but all I have to say is there will be a small percentage of people who do ACTUALLY like the sound of their own voice. Many people cringe at their own voice and will say "eurghh do I sound like that?" And will be more concerned at how their voice sounds than yours. Speak into that microphone and own it! 😁

💚Find talking to the camera weird and uncomfortable? Sadly, this will only get better with practice. Talking to a camera isn't natural - it's strange! When you first start, you will probably keep messing up your lines or may experience 'brain mush' where you have no idea what to say - it's not easy! Keep at it though, and you will get there. You can even get apps where you can add a teleprompter on your phone screen, so you can read your lines while filming, making it much easier.

TIPS TO BE MORE AUTHENTIC ON SOCIAL MEDIA! 🌻👇

I believe that to show up as your best self on social media is to be authentic. So many people today put on a fake persona making their lives look perfect and using filters. The truth is though, none of this is real! 🙌

💚 Don't just show the ups, show the downs too. You will be more relatable to your viewers.

💚 Even if you aren't feeling your best, try not to use filters. Filters don't show the real you!

💚 Stay true to you - if you are a sustainable influencer or business, stay away from companies that don't share your views.

💚 Don't follow trends if they don't suit you or your business. Social media was the place to follow trends to build up awareness for your business, but people are now preferring authentic content that shows the real you.

💚 Don't post content that you're not fully comfortable with. If you prefer to not show up on camera and post photos, that is completely fine. Not everyone is fully comfortable with being behind the camera, and if you're not, it's going to show on your reels. If you want to post reels without showing yourself too much or talking on it, why not show a video of you typing on your laptop with music over the reel? Many people have accounts where they don't show their face.

💚 Show your true self when engaging with other viewers. Reply to comments with YOUR tone of voice, and how YOU would reply, and not with a fake tone of voice because you want to be seen as 'professional'

I always like to repurpose what I have when I can, and use it creatively. Instead of putting my 2023 calendar straight in the recycling bin, I cut out pieces from it that I will use for my scrap book and handmade cards. 💚
