A teenager who was 'obsessed with knives and violence' has been given a life sentence with a minimum of 20 years for the murder of 18-year-old Noah Smedley in Ilkeston last December.

Charles Hartle, 18, stabbed Noah whilst buying cannabis from him. The court heard he pulled on a balaclava whilst grinning and then took out a 'Rambo' knife and killed him.

I’m incredibly sad to hear the news that Donald Rose, the UK’s Oldest Man and World War II veteran, has passed away at the age of 110.

He was a true gentleman who gave me so much of his time and always threw in a cheeky joke along the way too.

🚨 BREAKING: A plastic surgeon has been jailed for life with a minimum of 22 years for trying to murder a colleague in Nottinghamshire to get him 'out the way'

Peter Brooks, 61, cycled to Graeme Perks' home in January 2021 with petrol, a crowbar, and a knife—intending to set the house on fire while the family slept. He was disturbed by Mr Perks, who he then stabbed.

Brooks had a professional grudge because Graeme Perks was a witness in a tribunal that had begun three days earlier.

Campaigners hope a buried danger beneath a former RAF airfield in Nottinghamshire could stop a major housing development.

Pilots at Nottingham City Airport — set to close on the 6th of June 2025 — fear WWII-era asbestos and fuel contamination could pose serious health risks.

Vistry Homes plan to build 1,600 homes on the site and says the land has been part of the expansion plans since 2014.
