In 1988, if you’d told me I’d one day be at Buckingham Palace, I’d have assumed I was serving the afternoon tea.

Not attending it.

Yesterday I was a guest at Garden Party at Buckingham Palace and I’m still processing it.

I’ve been a mentor at The King’s Trust for a little over a year now. I show up because the work matters. Because giving someone the time to have a real conversation about what they’re capable of can change everything.

I didn’t expect to end up on that lawn or to walk amongst the roses.

37 years on the phones. 21 years running Konpasu. And yesterday, sandwiches I didn’t have to carry on a tray.

Oh and I have video of the King. Metres away. Waving.

I don’t have video of Ant & Dec waving to me. But I have witnesses.

Such a surreal pinch me moment.

The conversations that count aren’t always the ones you plan. 👑

“You never know where a conversation will lead.”

I say it to clients. I say it in training rooms. I say it on stages.

I’ve been saying it for years — because I’ve lived it.

A conversation I wasn’t sure about led to a client.
A client led to a referral.
A referral led to a door I didn’t even know existed.

So when Richard Branson posted this week, I left that comment.

And he replied: “Very true, Wendy.”

I’ll take that.

But it wasn’t the reply that made my day.
It was the reminder that showing up and saying something real still matters.

You never know where a conversation will lead.

Start one today.

Easter holidays, sunshine in Scotland — practically balmy by our standards — and still a room full of people who chose conversation over the school run or a rare day in the garden. We see you. 🌞
A smaller room meant a rounder table. Real headlines. Honest conversations about what’s working, what isn’t, and how we actually show up versus how we think we do.

Started my own business in 2005 with a phone, a list, and a belief that if you could hold a conversation, you could hold a client.
37 years in commercial conversations later — the tools have changed beyond recognition. The fundamentals haven’t moved an inch.
If you’re relying on the tools to do the talking for you, we need to talk. 😄

🧭 You’re Invited – Join the Konpasu Community (Free to Start)

Konpasu Community was quietly launched back in October with one simple intention:
to give people a calmer, more meaningful place to continue the conversations that start at our events.

Fast forward a few months and we now have 40+ active members – business owners and leaders showing up, contributing, and shaping the community together.

✨ What’s new?
You can now join Konpasu Community for free.

That means you can:

Access the community chat

Get a feel for the space

Join the conversation

Decide if and when you’d like to upgrade

No pressure. No funnels. No awkward sales energy.

🧭 A quick note on location
Our in-person events are currently Scottish-based (Ayrshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh) – but the community and programme benefits aren’t limited by geography.

Members are joining for:

The programmes

The conversations

The shared learning

The accountability and support

And an online-first version of the events is coming soon, shaped by the community itself.

🧭 Why now?
Because our first member-led programme starts this Friday, and the next one is already being drafted – guided by real questions and real challenges members are bringing into the space.

This isn’t about consuming content.
It’s about working things through, together.

🎟️ Membership options

Free – community chat and conversations

Premium – includes programme access and networking tickets

VIP – our original Mountain Path pioneers

If you’ve ever left an event (or an online conversation) thinking:
“I wish there was a space to keep this going” – this is it.

🎖️ My Unofficial New Year’s Honours List – 2025 🎖️

As we edge towards New Year’s Eve, I’ve been reflecting on what really made 2025 special.

Not algorithms.
Not funnels.
Not shiny tactics.

People.

And the achievements that happen when you’re part of a supportive community where conversations come before transactions.

So, here’s my unofficial New Year’s Honours List for 2025 – recognising the moments and mindset shifts that happen when people don’t try to do business alone.

January – The Courage to Begin Award
For starting before feeling ready.

February – The Confidence Builder Award
For leaning into visibility and finding your voice.

March – The Community Connector Award
For turning online connections into real-life conversations – Ayrshire, Glasgow, and Edinburgh bringing the energy.

April – The Consistency Champion Award
For showing up even when motivation dipped.

May – The Permission to Be Human Award
For honest conversations about confidence and doubt.

June – The Collaboration Spark Award
For partnerships and shared ideas.

July – The Visibility with Purpose Award
For posting to connect, not impress.

August – The Bravery in the Background Award
For the unseen graft and foundations laid.

September – The Learning Curve Award
For choosing growth over comfort.

October – The Leadership Through Listening Award
For listening better, not louder.

November – The Resilience & Resolve Award
For navigating change without losing kindness.

December – The Gratitude & Reflection Award
For pausing and recognising how far you’ve come.

None of this happens in isolation.

Community doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built one conversation at a time. And just like the saying “it takes a village to raise a child”, it also takes a village to grow confidence and courage in business.

Ayrshire.
Glasgow.
Edinburgh.

One shared village mindset.

You know who you are.
And if someone’s name popped into your head while reading this – tell them.

Thank you for being part of 2025.
2026 is going to be something special. 🧡

✨ Word of the Week: Hearthfire ✨

It’s the last full working week of the year and somehow…it hasn’t felt like work at all.

That’s the magic of good conversations, isn’t it? They warm the room, spark ideas, and make everything feel a little lighter.

Between Glasgow and the Ayrshire brunch, I’ve been surrounded by people sharing traditions, stories, laughter, and their own versions of Yuletide joy.

Those tiny moments of connection are the ones that linger – the ones that feel a bit like sitting beside a fire you didn’t know you needed.

And as we look back on 2025, I’ve been encouraging the community to notice their wins too.

Not the big, shiny ones (though there are plenty of those), but the quieter achievements that built strength, confidence, and momentum.

The kind that make a programme, a business, or a person burn a little brighter.

With new support rolling out for Konpasu Community members, I can already feel the energy shifting.

2026 is shaping up to be something special because we’re doing it together – learning, cheering each other on, and keeping the hearthfire glowing so no one builds their business in the cold.

💬 What’s kept your fire burning this week?

✨ Word of the Week: Unpredictable ✨

This week was a gentle (and sometimes not-so-gentle thump) reminder that the best-laid plans don’t always play out the way we imagine.

You can map the route, prep the kit, colour-code the diary yet life still throws in a curveball with excellent timing.

But unpredictable doesn’t have to mean negative.

Let’s look back together over the last seven days, I bet there will be moments where you adapted, adjusted, learned, or simply kept going when it would’ve been easier to give up. That’s progress too, even if it didn’t arrive wrapped the way you expected.

So instead of measuring success by what didn’t happen, I’m choosing to look at what did:

✨ Conversations that moved things forward
✨ Actions taken despite uncertainty
✨ Resilience quietly built along the way

Sometimes rolling with the punches is the work that’s needed.

💬 Tell me, what’s your word this week and how did the unpredictable show up for you?

Let’s tidy the week with honesty, not perfection.
