There's no point in me telling you what to do if it makes you reliant on me.
👇
So, I need to plant seeds to make you think.

There's no point in solely making you think about things, because that's not what gets results.
👇
So, I need to help you take the right action.

I appreciated this lovely message SO much, because all the thought and planning that went into my workshop was aimed at trying to get this balance right.

And the last 6 years of supporting 100s of tutors with their business growth, now allows me to design my support, instead of trying things out.

My Bespoke 1:1 Accelerator Programme starts next week:

✔️ 6 months so you have plenty of breathing space and room for life getting in the way

✔️ A mix of group and 1:1 support - if we're the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with, we want to be around positive and like-minded people, right?

✔️ Curated 1:1 support. Nope, it's not your standard 1-hour-a-week stuff. It's different, and designed based on what I know works, and what doesn't.

If you're ready to do the kind of thinking that leads to impactful action, if you're ready to drop the small stuff that just keeps you busy, but doesn't bring results, you'll want to see if this programme is right for you.

I want you to have the best 6 months yet.

Ready?

I'm showing up today to remind you, you don't have to it, whatever 'it' may be.

Being visible as a business owner is important.

But that doesn't mean you have to do everything.

Here's what I do:

✓ Post regularly on 1 social media platform (the rest are more sporadic)
✓ Host a weekly podcast
✓ Have some email marketing on the go
✓ Run webinars every now and again
✓ Stay focused on who I serve and what I help them with

Here's why I do each one:

1. 1 social media platform means I can be present without burnout.

2. My pod has brought in the most clients to date. And it helps me give back to a community that has supported me so much through the years.

3. I love having chats over email! And it doesn't rely on an algorithm.

4. They're a lot of work - hence the 'now and again'. But they bring lots of new people into my world.

5. I don't need to be everything to everyone. I know what I'm good at. I leave the rest to people better than me at them.

Here's what I'm sharing.

There's a lot missing from that list. I could be running events, challenges, be on more platforms etc. I could. And they'd all work. But only if I used them properly.

And I don't have the time or headspace for that!

Yet, they bring the results I want.

The lesson (I've learnt the hard way: more doesn't equal more.

📌 It's usually the small, focused things that have the biggest impact.

This is the foundation my Bespoke 1:1 Accelerator Programme is built on.

Curious to see if it's what you need?

Book a call in - spaces are running out in my diary.

I disagree with: 'you'll never be ready, just start.'

Because 'ready' means different things.

May 2020 Decided to launch a podcast - aimed at Aug 2020
Problem: I didn't feel ready

Aug 2020 came and went, and I still didn't feel ready.

Jan 2021 - wasn't ready, but felt ready
Upgrade Your Education Business podcast was launched

Here's why I felt ready:
✅ I finally knew what I wanted to say

Here's why I wasn't (technically) ready:
❌ No professional mic
❌ Plagued by 'what-ifs'

Here's why I'm sharing.

We all have that thing we want to do, but don't feel ready.

Regardless of what the common cliche tells us, you DON'T have to do it anyway.

Just pinpoint the missing catalyst. That way, you'll look out for it, and 'ready' will become a decision.

If you're armed with your 'why' and need help to make it happen, book a discovery call with me now.

Being an independent tutor makes me feel quite vulnerable when I think of what-ifs or the future.

So, I've carved a business and life decisions around those insecurities - ones that give me contingencies and future security.

It actually took being backed into a metaphorical corner to take it seriously. I kind of wish I'd have made these decisions sooner instead of waiting until pinch point.

Money is important. But so is time - and nowadays, that's what I really value.

So, working all possible hours is off the table.

And it doesn't have to be by changing my position as an independent tutor.

We're in exciting times.

We're no longer limited to options that have been done in our niche because that's all that's accepted.

Just this week:

✔️ I helped one of my clients niche right down, which has already started paying off in money and in ideas.

✔️ I helped another 1:1 client develop a fresh offer suite - one I haven't seen anyone else do in the tuition space. She's excited. I'm excited. Her clients are excited (always a good sign!)

✔️ One of my clients has spent the summer making small changes for big impact, and is earning the amount she wanted before resigning from the classroom - the letter is now printed and ready to hand in.

If you're ready to grow your tutoring business, without abandoning what you love or the quality of what you deliver, that's lucrative and sustainable (yes, we really can have both), now's the time to book a discovery call 👇👇

Are you staying stuck because you don't want to look bad?

😫 About 3 years ago, I started my podcast, but I chickened out of going on video with it.

> Once I got over myself and did it anyway, the number of people who wanted to work with me boomed

😫 2 years ago, I was scared to increase my prices in case everyone said no, and I had to embarrassingly revert to my old ones.

> Once I did it anyway, I didn't lose any clients. I freed up time, as I didn't have to say yes to so many. Life got better, I got healthier.

🎉 Small tweaks. Big results. All delayed by my fear of looking bad.

If you're ready to open opportunities and abandon the fear of 'what if this won't work?' or 'what will people think?', we need to talk.

My Bespoke 1:1 Accelerator Programme is all about growth, the sustainable kind, and without compromising on the impact you make your students.

✔️ We'll throw fear out of the window, and focus on high-impact activities

✔️ We'll stop stressing about what to post on social media, and focus on the kind of messaging that positions you as a go-to

✔️ We'll explore your offers, so they're so good, people talk about it and do the selling for you

Since 2020, I've said 'no' to working with more tutors than I've said 'yes' to. And each time, I got more clients.

Make it make sense!

Okay, I will, since you asked 😉

1. I say 'no' if someone isn't a good fit for selfish reasons - they won't get results, and that could harm my reputation.

2. But when I say 'no' it strengthens trust because tutors know I won't sell them something at any cost.

3. So, although they don't work with me, they (kindly) spread the word!

Ta da!

I've been talking about my Bespoke 1:1 Accelerator Programme lately, and inviting you to a call.

If you're worried about being pressured into buying, don't be.

I'm not afraid to say 'no' :-)

Newsflash: groups and hiring tutors aren't the only way to grow a tutoring business.

They're legit ways to spread your impact while making more money, without running yourself to the ground (which I'm a huge advocate for), but they aren't the only options.

In fact, within them and outside them, are innovative ways to:

✔️ Optimise what you're already doing

✔️ Bring fresh ideas that others aren't doing

✔️ Create an offer suite that feeds into one another

I know I've been broad, but I have to be.

Because if this is going to work for you, it has to be uniquely designed for you.

THIS is the laser focus for my Bespoke 1:1 Accelerator Programme.

🗓️ Starting in September, and I'm only taking 10 clients so I can support you fully (8 spaces left).

It starts with a chat to make sure it's perfect for you.

In this episode, I share lessons from top business and marketing minds — and how we can apply them in the education space.
-
It’s easy to stay in our niche, but doing so can limit our growth. I explore what happens when we step outside and learn from others.
-
We cover pricing, client experience, creative thinking, and standing out in a busy market.
-
Takeaways
Loud voices don’t always reflect the majority.
Value justifies pricing — not what others are charging.
Client experience leaves a lasting impression.
Creative thinking and logic go hand in hand.
We don’t need to be everywhere to stand out.
Plan for dips in motivation to stay consistent.
Looking outside our niche keeps us fresh and relevant.
-
Sound bites
"Are we listening to the loudest voices or the right ones?"
"People remember how we made them feel."
"Emotions aren’t the opposite of logic."
-
Enjoy :-)
