I'm heading back to Jolaurabi School in Kenya on 14th January with a team of 14 volunteers, and our hope is to give every one of the 800+ pupils a “new” pair of shoes to start their year with confidence.

If you’re having a bit of a sort-out over the Christmas break, we’d love you to keep us in mind. We’re still missing a few key sizes:

UK J13 / EU32
UK 1 / EU33
UK 3 / EU36
UK 4 / EU37
UK 8 / EU42.

We’re looking for gently worn shoes or trainers (no sandals or boots) for children aged 4–16.

Please drop donations into our Portishead shop.

Do you love working with people and enjoy helping customers feel looked after? We’re looking for a friendly, reliable part-time Retail Sales Assistant with key holder responsibilities to join our small, supportive team.

At SoleLution, we’re all about great service, expert advice and helping customers of all ages find the right shoes for their soles. No hard sell, just honest guidance and a warm, welcoming experience.

👟 The role includes:
• Delivering excellent customer service
• Helping customers choose the right footwear
• Keeping the shop looking great
• Opening and closing the shop on some days

⏰ Hours:
• 22.5 hours per week
• Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays (9am–5.30pm)
• No Sundays or Bank Holidays

Retail experience is helpful, but not essential, full training is provided, including children’s shoe fitting.

If you’re friendly, trustworthy, enjoy working as part of a team and feel comfortable taking responsibility, we’d love to hear from you.
