This is my marketing goddess hat. It’s a bit outrageous, furry, over the top at times, but it makes a statement, an impact.

My cowboy hat may have sufficed, but sometimes you just need a bit of a 90s feel, ya know?

One of the reasons I decided to go freelance was to *long term* have a better work life balance. Starting this adventure in January I was fully prepared to not be able to take any time off at all this year, so I am honestly BUZZING that not only do I have the bank holiday weekend off, but in total 11 days off (all together, right now!).

So grateful to everyone I’ve worked with over the past few weeks, for the new client I signed this afternoon 🥂, for the collaboration & for the flexibility to be able to take this time off.

I’m going to spend 11 days with my other half (show him the sights of Cornwall before we head back across the bridge), with my best friend, my family & of course lots of doggie friends 🥰

For now, I’m signing off (not that I’m very active on here anyway…I’ll try and work on that 🤣)

Come on then, it’s time for a Q1 2025 round up, and what a ride it’s been! 🚀

I kicked off the year by officially going freelance (hello, self employed life 👋), and it’s been full steam ahead ever since!

Over the last three months, I’ve had the absolute joy of:
✨ Partnering with the brilliant folks at
✨ Supporting not one but TWO funding bids… and winning them both! 🎉
✨ Getting the Tech Cornwall volunteer programme off the ground – our community is growing and it’s so exciting to see (if you’d like to be an ambassador of excellence, drop me a message - no deep tech knowledge necessary, I swear!)
✨ Helping deliver the Festival of Tech at the BIG Tech Showcase – what a buzz!
✨ Plus a few other behind-the-scenes bits I can’t talk about just yet 👀

Freelancing has already thrown me into some brilliant opportunities, and I’m buzzing for what’s next. Big thanks to everyone who’s supported me so far – whether it’s been with advice, coffee, or just a “you’ve got this”.

That’s a wrap on February. This month has been full on and fun! I’ve got stuck in and:

✅ Helped with the coordination and management of a huge event for the wonderful Tech Cornwall team - attended by just short of 300 people!

✅ Scheduled training events: created events on Eventbrite, updated the Wordpress site, and had confirmation calls with all attendees.

✅ Succesfully submitted 1 bid for a prospective project, and supported a business on another bid, also successful. Generating significant revenue for the client.

✅ Tidied up a mammoth CRM, ensuring all contacts are up to date and relevant (a GDPR dream)

✅ Invoice management for another client, billing their customers and also ensuring everything was ready for the accountants to run the VAT return 👌🏼
