Here’s to fresh beginnings, to creativity, to community, and to a 2026 filled with kindness and colour.

As we welcome the year ahead, we hope our pages continue to bring you inspiration, warmth and those little sparks of joy we all need. We can’t wait to share more with you in the new year.

Looking back over the past year fills us with so much gratitude.

We’ve had the privilege of working with inspiring contributors, photographers, stylists and writers who bring their magic to every page. We’ve discovered new makers and brands, told stories that celebrate craft and countryside living, and shared glimpses into homes and lives that remind us to slow down and savour the moment.

And here, as we look back at our autumn and winter issues, we’re especially proud to have celebrated as our first cover star, marking a truly memorable season of rich storytelling, cosy inspiration and Wildflower milestones.

Wildflower magazine has always been about creating a gentle place to escape to, a reminder to seek beauty in the everyday and to find comfort in the changing seasons.

We can't wait to see what 2026 brings! Thank you so much for being here with us. ✨

Travel is always on the radar once Christmas quietens down, giving us something joyful to look forward to and pop into the diary for the year ahead.

If a city break is calling you, Venice is one to consider.

Arriving anywhere by boat is exciting, not least this floating city, and especially when travelling as a family. Visiting Venice for the first time is an exhilarating experience - the first impressions are tremendous.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day. 🎄

What are your Boxing Day traditions?

For some, it's extending the celebrations with loved ones, staying put on the sofa eating leftovers, or perhaps you're browsing the sales already?!

If you're looking for something to do with your leftovers, try our warm salad of broccoli, lemon labneh, mushrooms and smoked almonds. This is the perfect Boxing Day side dish, which effortlessly transforms leftover vegetables into something fresh, comforting and full of bright, zingy flavour.

Find the recipe on our website, and save this post for January too. 🥦

Gingerbread Baked Alaska ✨

This is an impressive pudding and a great cooking challenge if you want to make all the elements from scratch.

However, it is delicious made using a bought gingerbread loaf and a pimped-up good-quality vanilla ice cream and will take a fraction of the time to prepare. It is worth making the Italian meringue - even though you will need a sugar thermometer, as the meringue will be stable, allowing for the dramatic baking needed for the fantastic Alaska finish.

An ice-cream machine is the quickest way to make the ice cream for this dessert, although we have also given the method for making the ice cream by hand – it will take up to 6 hours to freeze in this way.

Christmas is a fantastic time of year to get into the kitchen and create some amazing occasion dishes, so you can mark the festive season with delicious food and ‘wow’ your guests.

Here at Wildflower, we love Gravetye Manor, and we're delighted to feature their Head Florist, Sharon Coote, in our Country Set’s Christmas Style Code.

“I like a natural English country style that’s in tune with the hotel’s surroundings. I begin by studying the room – not just colours, but textures, shapes and overall mood. It could be the rich velvet fabric of a chair that guides me. A tree doesn’t just decorate the room, but becomes part of it; not demanding attention, but welcoming you with warmth and homeliness. I source Nordman Fir super grade from Evergreen Exterior Services. Our tree decorations are carefully packed away and repurposed every year, adding new ones along the way – especially when you find that perfect bauble.”
