সাত শতাব্দীর ঐতিহ্য, স্বচ্ছতা ও জবাবদিহিতার নতুন অধ্যায়: শাহজালাল (রহ.) ও শাহপরান (রহ.) দরগাহ ব্যবস্থাপনায় সংস্কারের উদ্যোগ

সিলেটের ইতিহাস, সংস্কৃতি ও ইসলামী ঐতিহ্যের সঙ্গে ওতপ্রোতভাবে জড়িত আধ্যাত্মিক মহাপুরুষ Hazrat Shah Jalal (রহ.) এবং Hazrat Shah Paran (রহ.)-এর দরগাহ শুধু ধর্মীয় স্থান নয়; এটি ইসলামের দাওয়াহ, শিক্ষা, মানবসেবা ও সামাজিক সম্প্রীতির এক ঐতিহাসিক কেন্দ্র।
পবিত্র কুরআনে মহান আল্লাহ তাআলা বলেন:
“নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ তোমাদের নির্দেশ দেন যে, তোমরা আমানতসমূহ তাদের হকদারদের নিকট পৌঁছে দেবে এবং যখন মানুষের মধ্যে বিচার করবে, তখন ন্যায়ের সঙ্গে বিচার করবে।”

এ আয়াত থেকে স্পষ্ট যে, জনগণের দান, ওয়াকফ সম্পদ এবং ধর্মীয় প্রতিষ্ঠানের আয়-ব্যয় পরিচালনায় স্বচ্ছতা, জবাবদিহিতা ও ন্যায়পরায়ণতা ইসলামের মৌলিক শিক্ষা।
রাসূলুল্লাহ ﷺ বলেছেন:
“তোমাদের প্রত্যেকেই দায়িত্বশীল এবং প্রত্যেককেই তার দায়িত্ব সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে।”
— (সহিহ বুখারি ও সহিহ মুসলিম)
এই হাদিস আমাদের স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয় যে, ধর্মীয় ও জনকল্যাণমূলক প্রতিষ্ঠানের পরিচালকদেরও আল্লাহর কাছে জবাবদিহি করতে হবে।
ইতিহাস সাক্ষ্য দেয় যে, হযরত শাহজালাল (রহ.) ও তাঁর সফরসঙ্গীরা সিলেটে আগমন করেছিলেন তাওহীদের বাণী, নৈতিকতা, শিক্ষা, মানবকল্যাণ ও ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে। তাঁরা কখনো ব্যক্তিগত সম্পদ বা ক্ষমতার কেন্দ্র গড়ে তুলতে আসেননি; বরং মানুষকে আল্লাহর পথে আহ্বান এবং সমাজকে আলোকিত করাই ছিল তাঁদের লক্ষ্য।
সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে দরগাহের আয়-ব্যয়, সম্পদ ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং দর্শনার্থীদের সুযোগ-সুবিধা নিয়ে প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগকে অনেকেই একটি যুগান্তকারী পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে দেখছেন। যদি এই উদ্যোগ সত্যিকার অর্থে স্বচ্ছতা, সুশাসন ও জনকল্যাণ নিশ্চিত করতে সক্ষম হয়, তবে এটি শাহজালাল (রহ.) ও শাহপরান (রহ.)-এর আদর্শের সঙ্গেই অধিক সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ হবে।
ইসলামে ওয়াকফ ও জনকল্যাণমূলক সম্পদের উদ্দেশ্য হলো শিক্ষা, দরিদ্রসেবা, মসজিদ, মাদরাসা, গবেষণা এবং সমাজের কল্যাণে ব্যয় করা। মহান আল্লাহ বলেন:
“তোমরা সৎকাজ ও তাকওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে একে অপরকে সহযোগিতা করো।”
— (সূরা আল-মায়িদাহ ৫:২)
অতএব, দরগাহকে কেন্দ্র করে আধুনিক শিক্ষা, গবেষণা, গ্রন্থাগার, পরিচ্ছন্ন পরিবেশ, নারী-পুরুষের জন্য নিরাপদ ব্যবস্থা এবং দর্শনার্থীদের উন্নত সেবা নিশ্চিত করা ইসলামের কল্যাণমূলক চেতনারই প্রতিফলন।
আমাদের প্রত্যাশা, সিলেটের এই ঐতিহাসিক প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহ ভবিষ্যতে ধর্মীয় মূল্যবোধ, জ্ঞানচর্চা, মানবসেবা, সামাজিক সম্প্রীতি এবং জাতীয় ঐতিহ্যের উজ্জ্বল কেন্দ্র হিসেবে আরও সমৃদ্ধ হবে।

A New Chapter of Transparency and Accountability in the Historic Shrines of Sylhet

The shrines of Hazrat Shah Jalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) are among the most significant spiritual, cultural, and historical landmarks in Sylhet. These institutions symbolize not only religious devotion but also the legacy of Islamic education, social welfare, and community harmony.
Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:
“Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people, judge with justice.”
(Surah An-Nisa 4:58)
This verse highlights the Islamic principles of transparency, accountability, and justice in managing public trusts, charitable donations, and waqf properties.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Every one of you is a shepherd, and every one of you will be questioned about his responsibility.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)
This Hadith emphasizes that those entrusted with the management of religious and public institutions are accountable before Allah for their stewardship.
History records that Hazrat Shah Jalal (RA) and his companions came to Sylhet to spread the message of Tawhid (the Oneness of Allah), moral values, education, compassion, and social justice. Their mission was never personal enrichment or privilege; rather, it was the spiritual and intellectual development of society.
Recent administrative efforts to ensure greater transparency in the management of the shrines, finances, and public services have been welcomed by many as a significant step toward good governance. If implemented effectively, such reforms can help align the institutions more closely with the values and teachings of Hazrat Shah Jalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA).
Islam teaches that waqf properties and charitable resources should be utilized for education, poverty alleviation, mosques, madrasahs, research, and broader community welfare. Allah says:
“Cooperate with one another in righteousness and piety.”
(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:2)
Therefore, initiatives aimed at improving educational facilities, research centers, libraries, public amenities, cleanliness, security, and services for visitors are consistent with the Islamic vision of public welfare and social responsibility.
It is hoped that these historic institutions of Sylhet will continue to flourish as centers of faith, knowledge, humanitarian service, social harmony, and national heritage for generations to come.
