Edinburgh Festival season is just about here so we’ve been let loose and will be DJ’ing at the St James Quarter Sessions as part of the Fringe on Friday 11th August at 8pm.

Loads of great music across 3 stages between the 4th and 28th August so if you’re around Edinburgh it will be well worth a visit (tickets available from the St James Quarter app.)

🚨New Mix Alert 🚨

Tomorrow night at 21:00 we welcome label boss, DJ, composer and music producer Riyoon to the DNC Radio turntables for a special 2 hour mix of his trademark slo-mo hypnotic sounds.

Alex Zielinski (aka Riyoon) is a self-taught music composer, avid computer-nerd and passionate event organiser. In 2015, after graduating from university with a degree in computer science in Warsaw, Poland, he took off to Berlin to conquer the world of underground electronic music with his unique techno aesthetic. During his time in Berlin, he produced music under the name RIYOON where he released music with labels such as DROSSEL, Nie Wieder Schlafen and TRNDSK.

While in Berlin Alex collaborated with The Sensor Technology Visual Interactive Touch Orchestra (ST VITO), an innovative dance company, directed by Alma Edelstein and James Hudson. With ST VITO he composed music and performed at numerous music festivals across Germany such as 3000 Grad, Uckeralm Festival, Berlin Fashion Week and avant-garde art Galleries like SPEKTRUM Berlin.

In 2017 his wanderlust led him to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where he founded a community for local music artists. Via his group, Music Producers Chiang Mai (MPCM), Here Alex facilitated weekly events to support artist development and to create opportunities for artists to explore new ideas through music production and sound.

In May Alex moved to Auckland, New Zealand to work on a contemporary dance show MEAT with choreographer Tui Hofmann. He scored the 60 minute show with original Music and performed 6 shows in Auckland (all sold out) and 3 on Melbourne Fringe. Now resident in Bali, Alex continues to produce, DJ and release music extensively.
