Opportunity! 📣

As well as a Hair & Make up artists (9th - 11th or 12th) and an Armourer (11th or 10th) we would be interested to hear from local Extras who would be interested in participating in drama reconstruction filming for a documentary on American Independence.

Lead and Supporting roles are being cast separately, so this is for Extras at £97 for a standard day plus £10 travel stipend.

There is a mix of setups requiring - townspeople, sailors, and soldiers (British and Patriot). If anyone has late C17th costume, that is a bonus - please let me know!

We are on the look out for the following locations

Set in the early 1940’s.

Key Locations:
- Terraced Streets
- Warehouses (Huge and unmodernised Victorian to the 1930’s)
- Huge Gin Palace style pub
- Any period Manor houses or Stately homes within an hour of Birmingham
- Any interesting or preserved World War 2 buildings or architecture that fits for WW2, (could be Museums, planes, bunkers, etc)
- Any good London doubles, think Portland stone and scale, bigger the better.

📣 Great news for filming in the region that one of the biggest shows on the BBC is moving to the West Midlands 🎥 Silent Witness!

This is in addition to the previously announced move of the Masterchef brand to new studios at Digbeth in 2024; and alongside upcoming scripted commissions including Steven Knight’s This Town, Guz Khan’s hit comedy Man Like Mobeen and new CBBC drama Phoenix Rise.

Charlotte Moore, BBC Chief Content Officer says: “The BBC is committed to investing in the West Midlands and this plan will create a future proof skills base in the region that will fundamentally change the landscape boosting high impact content production with the arrival of the hugely popular hit series Silent Witness in 2024. I’m excited about the increased opportunities this will bring to the creative talent in the area.”
