Thank you so much for supporting the good team Alcopop! in this, the year of 2025. You have ears of gold, the warmest hearts and now – this compilation. A single hit from each of the bands we’ve released this year. You can stream it anywhere, download it from Bandcamp Pay What You Want, with a shirt if you so desire (designed by Rhi Lee).

The sleeve/ shirt is based on Pop Tarts – because Pop Tarts are ace. On the front it says ‘Alcopop! Almost As Old As Pop Tarts… Which actually we’re not (do you know they were around in the 60s. Mad that). Anyway – They’ll be shipping mid January 26!!!

Hands up, if you will, to celebrate the blessed union of Doss and Alcopop! Records. Them, the rabble rousing punk upstarts delivering the best hits Scotland has seen since time began. Us - the H***h guzzling indie label with vinyl of plenty and ears of gold.

So excited to be signing this band. So excited about 2026 plans. So excited they're playing (and likely to sell out) Glasgow Arts Club on April 18 - and most excited about a particular wild format we're investigating for the release. FFO of awesome things. We love Christmas. It can be awesome (as a fine band once suggested ;-)) – but in the same breath, it’s not ALWAYS awesome for everyone, especially in 2025. So, we’ve put aside some records as gifts for people who might appreciate a little something this Christmas.

So, if you’ve got a pal who loves their music, but is super skint, on their own this year, missing people, is generally feeling down (whatever reason it may be) drop us a DM, the type of music they like and their address - and we’ll send them something along as a little gift from you and us

Yes, it's the only chart that really matters, and the only chart you can possibly top with less than 500 copies, presuming of course that Oasis or Wizzard haven't stuck some f*cking reissue out... But they might not have? In which case, we reckon we've got a little squeak at this. The single is awesome too, comprising this cover, a cover of ‘Make Your Own Kind of Music’ – as well as bis covering My Little Brother and Art Brut restyling Teen-C Power!

RELEASE WEEK MAYHEM!!! Had an absolutely blessed week, dropping a shimmering EP each from cheerbleederz and CARSICK on Friday - both of which will fill your heart with joy and head with grade A bangerz 🤩🤩🤩

It's tough sometimes, running a label; the more you seem to be doing, the more there is to lose sleep over, deliveries to go awry, couriers to inexplicably disappear, perfectly laid plans to go wrong and myriad other things that make life really difficult.

So - sat down last night to listen to those Tough Luck and (prove me wrong) EPs back to back, just after spending some time with on their UK instore odyssey - and the realisation of why this is THE most fun job in the world hit me like a fluffy sledgehammer 🍾

To be sooooo lucky to work with bands like cheerbleederz and CARSICK (and Joe's mob and and and and and and and and and and so many other brilliant artists) week in week out fills our hearts with absolute joy. Putting out songs that will last forever, change minds and win hearts.

Thanks for joining us on the ride. We love you more than Instagram copy can say 🔥

Required Sunday listening if ever there was...

The new single Black Ice is out this week, nestling beautifully on the likes of The New Music Fix and Marc Riley show on - as well as with the good folk at - and many MANY other golden eared chums.

Getting on the wireless is bloody tough. Getting on radio playlists is tougher. Getting on the hallowed playlist toughEST. Can count on one hand the amount of times we've seen one of our acts do it over the last lots of years. So it's fu***ng fantastic to see the immortal on there 😀 Actually, properly made UP!

Everything about Problem Patterns is brilliant, especially when they told New Music Fix live on air that their plan for this year was to "get much worse, so they could manage expectations"

Also, thank you of NMF for championing the band so hard, and for plugging >>> If plugging was an olympic sport they'd make a little plushie of him. I'd DEFINITELY buy it.
