This evening we've sadly had to formally withdraw '3000 Le****ns Go to York' from the Polari Prize longlist. Our brilliant author Jane Traies cannot square it with her conscience to remain on a list which celebrates her book alongside that of a deliberately anti-trans author. All the authors and people involved in the prize have had difficult decisions to make and at Tollington Press we just hope that the wonderful books on the two longlists will find readers to love them. Sending solidarity to all our LGBTQ+ community and especially to our trans and non-binary folks.

A reminder that '3000 Le****ns Go to York' by Jane Traies is in stock at lots of lovely shops including Gay's the Word in London, The Portal in York, and Gayberystwyth Books in Aberystwyth. Or you can order from any good bookshop or evil online store.

We've had wonderful responses at the launch events for this celebration of the history of the Libertas! and YLAF arts festivals.

The story begins with Jenny Roberts opening her iconic bookshop in 1998 and ends with the last fabulous festival weekend in 2008. The book is packed with interviews with authors, musicians and festival-goers, and gorgeous colour photos all the way through!
