THE ABNORMAL STORIES SEASON 3 FINALE

“A rough cut of the lost final episode of classic British sitcom Johnny & Janey has been rediscovered, and it raises a lot of questions.”

Written by Stuart Hardy and narrated by Colin Spaull, this episode was such great fun to cast.

Also featuring the voices of Kate Morgan-Jones, Paul Michael Bradley, Ninette Finch, Poppy Abbott, Kate Coldron, Jane Goddard, Stuart Hardy and Simon Fisher-Becker, and dedicated in loving memory to Simon Fisher-Becker.

What is Ask Seek Knock’s Approach To Production? We have 4 key principles.

Welcoming Sets

The Film and TV industries have been known to take a toll on mental health, and we make it our central focus to ensure that everyone feels welcome and comfortable on our sets. Making use of the Film and TV’s Charity Toolkit along with our own industry experience, we want to ensure that our cast and crew enjoy their time on set with us just as much as audiences will eventually enjoy watching what we produce.

As a disability-led production company, we also have an eye on keeping the conversation flowing around accessibility on set and how we can learn to be more accommodating to the cast and crew - including, but not limited to, those that are disabled and neurodivergent.

Integrity and Honesty

At ASK we believe in a focus on integrity and honesty. We are open and transparent about any mistakes (although we hope there are not too many!) because we are passionate about a people-led culture based on these core values. Those working with us should always feel that it is a safe space where their own needs and worries can be met with understanding,
rather than opposition.

Traineeship

Where we can, we are keen to incorporate opportunities for less experienced crew and work experience students to shadow and learn from those who may be ‘further up the ladder.’ Luke Allen and other ASK representatives can also be booked for school assemblies, workshops, events, and even one-to-one calls to offer support and advice to fellow creatives, or to those who are looking to break into the industry.

The ’Right Answers’

We might not have all of them, but we aim to open the platform for the right questions to be asked and the right answers found. We believe that there are no wrong questions, and we hope to work together with all cast and crew to find the right answers. The Company’s name is a reference to Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” This isn’t just a nod to founder Luke Allen’s own personal faith; it is the foundation for the ethos of the whole Company. Asking is a huge part of opening the right doors and finding those right answers and, after all
– if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

ABNORMAL STORIES CONTINUED

Another great time casting for this unusually sweet episode of Abnormal Stories. Always love working on these and it’s great to work once again with some absolutely top tier and reliable actors.

ANOTHER ABNORMAL STORIES

It’s been great fun casting for Stuart Hardy’s incredible “Abnormal Stories” audio series and this one was no exception!

“Mr Williams suddenly realised, on the way back from the bank, that everyone around him is the exact same person”

“The Repeat People”, featuring the voices of Richard B Brookes and Kate Morgan-Jones is now available on all good podcast platforms, just search “Abnormal Stories”

NEW FILM ANNOUNCEMENT

Ninette Finch is one of the UK’s most successful and recognisable supporting artists (extras). She has shared the screen with Brad Pitt; was there when Michael Caine wrapped on his final acting role; is the oldest person to have performed at the Edinburgh Festival; and even once had a kiss from Antonio Banderas!

She’s used to being in the background, but we’re putting her front and centre with a documentary now in production.

Thanks to Lilac Films for the generous studio space.

STUBAGFUL’S ABNORMAL STORIES IS BACK

After a nearly 3 year hiatus, Stuart Hardy’s horror-comedy (sometimes!) audio anthology series is back and we had so much fun helping cast it.

“10% of the population of Earth randomly drops dead one day for no reason. One of them was George’s wife.”

The series will drop a new episode every Friday and we helped cast episodes 1 (out now!), 4, 5 & 6.

Huge thanks to the cast who lent their voices to this!

Paul M Bradley - George
Missi Chappell - Suzie
Luke Allen - The Operator
Jane Goddard - George’s Mum
Ninette Finch - Mrs Slowcombe
Poppy Abbott - Government Worker
Kate Coldron - The Funeral Director

Celebrating the incredible neurodiverse people behind Something Sketchy!

It’s not just founder Luke Allen who is a neurodivergent voice behind the camera on Something Sketchy (and our various other projects), he is one of many ND individuals who play a part in bringing his vision to life.

Here’s just a small selection of the neurodivergent individuals involved on ASK projects.

We don’t know where we’d be without the talents and minds of these wonderful crew members, and the project wouldn’t be what it is without all that everyone on the team brings to it - and today feels like the perfect day to celebrate that!

A WEEK SINCE WE WRAPPED

A week ago, we wrapped on all of Something Sketchy - a 2 year long project very generously supported by PNP Events

It’s been such a dun journey and this was a brilliant way to end this project - with our sketch “Derek’s Birthday”, directed by Emily DeJesus and with our brilliant guest star, Samuel Anderson (Doctor Who, Gavin & Stacey)

Thanks to everyone who worked on this project over the last 2 years and we can’t wait to share it with you.

THAT’S A WRAP!
