I set up my first magazine in 2006 as I knew there was a need for a good publication which would give residents a real idea of what was happening locally, as well as giving small local businesses a platform to highlight their business to targetted customers. More than a decade later, the magazines are still thriving and are available in print and online.

Can’t wait to go to the Spirit of Christmas Fair tomorrow at Olympia. Lots of individual creatives and makers selling a host of unique gifts. Every year I find a few special presents for the family that they won’t see elsewhere. It’s the first event I go to that gets me into the Christmas spirit. Of course, a couple of glasses of Prosecco always go down well . The last two days are Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th.

There are so many great things to look out for in the Nov/Dec issues. Having visited the MI5: Official Secrets exhibition at , I delved deep into the goings on at Latchmere House (known during WWII as Camp 020) in Ham. Camp 020 was a secret prison which held German spies and turned many into double agents. Our gardening expert, Valerie McBride Munro (who also volunteers ) writes about how to force spring bulbs into bloom in time for Christmas. Plus great features on What's On locally over the holidays, Richmond Talking News, the special Christmas Day lunch for Care Leavers and a great advice from audiologist, Louise Overton on not leaving it too late to get those hearing aids. Lots, lots more - in print and online !

The MI5 Official Secrets exhibition at the National Archives in Kew is fascinating. It’s been so popular that they’ve extended it until 23 November. Secret agents, code names, handlers, mobile surveillance, war time double agents, housewives who are not what they seem - it’s all there. Free entry and there’s a great cafe and bookshop.

The Sept/Oct issues are out for delivery now. Hopefully the weather - which can't seem to make up its mind what it wants to do - isn't going to slow down them reaching your letterboxes. It's a fabulous issue if you're thinking of choosing one of our local independent schools - we've got the best showcasing what they have to offer families. I had a lovely time interviewing comedian/writer/broadcaster/actor Marcus Brigstocke as he tours the country with his Vitruvian Mango stand-up show - look out for him at The Exchange Twickenham in October.
