Work with the tools you’ve got.

Check out the state of the tyres. The front right was down to the carcass.

Did I complain? No.
Did I go easy? Definitely not.

I pushed harder - and ended up with the fastest lap of the day.

And it made me think.

How often do we use “I don’t have the right tools” as an excuse to procrastinate?

Truth is, you don’t need the perfect setup to get going.

You don’t need the fancy system, the top gear, or even Kajabi (and I’m the Kajabi guy).

You just need to start.

Where do you do your best thinking?

This morning, I was the only one in the water, catching waves.

No noise. No screen (other than Factor 50 on my baldy head) - just me, my board, and a few clean sets rolling in.

The problem (non-problem) with a session like this is that my mind starts to wander.

If you’re a surfer, you’ll know one thing…

When you’re in the zone, you always have a song pop into your head.

I once made the mistake of having a surfboard with a sticker that read “Essential Surf and Sail Necessities”

So what?

I’ll tell you…

I spent a year surfing with "Bear Necessities" from The Jungle Book in my head.

And I can’t even stand the film.

The board had to go before I needed professional help.

I digress…

Today, in between waves, the old grey matter wandered to SEO.

Over the past couple of years, most of our Kajabi leads have come from search.

Previously Google, but more recently, AI.

(📌 Obvious tip: ALWAYS ask your prospects where they found you).

And while I can’t pretend to know every single ranking signal in the universe, what I do know, I put into practice relentlessly.

I obsess over it, for our own work and client work.

Because that’s where our business comes from - being found, being trusted and being clear.

Contrary to popular belief, I’m not dead.

A bit older, but not dead.

I just had to take a step back from the platform for a bit.

Why?

Because I was sick of the noise and the endless AI-generated garbage.

So I switched off and got back to real work.

I’ve been using the time to zoom out and look at what’s really happening in the online learning space.

And in all transparency, I’ve also been swanning around our incredible locale (and buying new hats).

But I digress…

There have been big conversations with clients, and I’ve been looking at the most successful memberships I’m part of.

And here’s what I’ve seen:

👉 Courses aren’t dead
👉 Kajabi’s not broken
👉 People are still buying

They’re just being way more selective.

So, which Kajabi builds are working right now?

They’re not the flashy ones with 30 modules. They’re the clean, lean ones built to deliver results, not overwhelm.

More than ever, less is more when building your courses and communities. Only give your audience what they need to succeed.

Which is good news for you as a creator.

Blended learning is the way forward: live coaching supported by on-demand resources.

This is where I’m seeing the highest completion rates.

4 Years, $5K, Zero Revenue...

Have you fallen into the trap?

I know someone who’s been paying for Kajabi for four years…

And they’ve done absolutely nothing with it.

Let’s say they’re on the $119/month plan.

That’s $5,712 spent on a powerful system they haven’t touched.

Here’s the thing:
They’ve got a solid idea.
They know their niche.
They’ve even mapped out a course and membership.

But every time they log in, they freeze.

Too many options.
Too much noise.
No clue where to start.

Kajabi is one of the best platforms out there...

But it’s not going to build the business for you.

Creators knocking their pan in to post content every single day.

Stressed. Pressured. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 ‘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁’.

Sleepless nights over engagement and reach. Fearing the algorithm more than the grim reaper.

But here’s the problem…

They have 𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
📌 No offer.
📌 No call to action.
📌 No clear destination.

It’s like me taking off in my plane with no flight plan.
I might stay in the air for a while.
From the ground, it might even look impressive.

But eventually, 𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹.

Posting every day without a strategy is just circling the sky.

Your content must 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.
✅ To an offer.
✅ To a conversation.
✅ To a transformation.

Otherwise, all you’re doing is creating noise.

That way, when your audience is ready, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

Remember: Destination first.

Because likes are vanity, and revenue is sanity.

"That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard."

We've all been there…

Sitting on an idea, a skill, or years of experience, while that little voice in our head (or sometimes a louder voice across the table) tells us it's not worth sharing.

Let me tell you something from experience:

That "stupid idea" you're holding onto right now? It could be worth millions.

Not just in money, though that's pretty cool too, but in impact, lives changed, and dreams fulfilled.

You're probably thinking, "Yeah, but my thing isn't special enough."

Stop right there.

That's exactly what Alessia thought about teaching ballet online. "Nobody's going to learn ballet from their computer," she said.

Now, her online ballet school has generated over $1 million in revenue, changing countless lives by helping adults fulfil their childhood dreams of dancing.

And she did this all on Kajabi.

See, we're all sitting on a goldmine of knowledge.

- That thing you do without thinking?

- The skill that's become second nature?

Start small. Start messy. Start anywhere.

Get your knowledge out of your head:
• Grab your phone, hit record, and talk through what you know
• Write down the questions people always ask you
• List the mistakes you've made and learned from
• Think about the shortcuts you've discovered
• Then turn that into something structured

A course. A membership community. A space where people can learn, grow, and support each other.

Et voila!

Okay, so it ranked number 3, but that was only due to distance.

I always did my best work on holiday, so we moved here.

Every September, we'd fly off somewhere warm.

Trying to maximise the summer and charge our batteries for the darker days and nights ahead.

As I'm sure you've done on similar trips, we always asked ourselves, "What would it be like to live here?"

In 2020, we decided to stop asking the question and actually make it happen.

4 years on, and the dream is still alive.

We don't own this villa, but we're fortunate enough to be invited to stay here when our friends are away.

When it comes to your dream, don't let the perceived price barrier stop you.

Our life now costs us a 3rd of what it used to, and the quality is 10x.

You can find every reason under the sun (or moon) to talk yourself out of your dream.

But you only need to find 1 that's strong enough to make it happen.

Go for it my friends, get that online coaching business setup and build a life you don't need a holiday from.

That means you’re further along the road than someone else.

Chances are, you’ve had to deal with some problems along the way.
