Happy publication day to Jenna Warren’s The Hometown Bookshop! This cosy summer read is set in a bookshop and follows two MCs as they develop a friendship and begin to realise that there may be more to life than they originally thought!

Actress Charlotte has it all: a starring role in a West End show, a glittering social life and an equally high-flying boyfriend. But when her perfect existence abruptly falls apart, she retreats to her hometown on the North Yorkshire coast, finding a summer job in the local bookshop.

Greg, the grumpy, old-fashioned manager of Seaswept Books, is alarmed by Charlotte’s attempts to revitalise the tired-looking bookshop. But when she discovers his secret passion for amateur dramatics, an unlikely friendship blossoms.

As Charlotte begins to question whether her showbiz life was really all that dreamy, and as Greg ventures beyond his comfort zone – with a little help from handsome librarian Nick – can both of them find the courage to start a new chapter?

This week we’re discounting The House of Marvellous Books by Fiona Vigo Marshall! A bookish novel set in a repurposed library and following a floundering publishing house, this is the perfect weekend read!

Tucked away in a near-derelict library in the centre of London, The House of Marvellous Books is a publishing house on the brink of financial disaster. A young junior editor charts the descent of the House in his logbook as it lurches from one failure to the next.

If you're interested in climate fiction written by a scientist then look no further!

The Fish by Joanne Stubbs is a climate fiction novel following 3 narratives in a near future almost dystopian world where fish have begun walking on land....

A few decades into the twenty-first century, in their permanently flooded garden in Cornwall, Cathy and her wife Ephie give up on their vegetable patch and plant a rice paddy instead. Thousands of miles away, expat Margaret is struggling to adjust to life in Kuala Lumpur, now a coastal city. In New Zealand, two teenagers marvel at the extreme storms hitting their island.

But they are not the only ones adapting to the changing climate. The starfish on Cathy’s kitchen window are just the start. As more and more sea creatures leave the oceans and invade the land, the new normal becomes increasingly hard to accept.

The Ebook is 99p until 8 June on Amazon, Google, and Kobo!

BRAVER:
Told with warmth, compassion and gentle humour, Braver is an uplifting story about the strength that can be drawn from friendship and community.

OTHER NAMES, OTHER PLACES:
Growing up in London with Tunisian parents, wayward Nessie finds herself caught between cultures. Her life is further complicated by the charismatic Mrs Brown, who befriends her parents and then betrays them. Years later, still struggling with her old patterns of self-sabotage, Nessie begins to wonder: what really happened between her parents and Mrs Brown?

THE MASK OF MERRYVALE MANOR:
On the cusp of the 1960s, Ben moves into the ancestral home of his aunt and uncle and quickly learns to appreciate his new life of languid opulence. Until five years later, when a woman’s body is found on the estate. As a murder investigation begins, Ben is placed on a collision course with his family and sees their power in a harsh new light.

BECOMING DELILAH:
On a windswept island off Cape Cod, Delilah moves into a cottage by the shore. The islanders watch the newcomer closely, and their gossip intensifies with every visit from Alan, the married man paying for Delilah’s keep. But when Delilah meets her next-door neighbour, the reclusive Anton, sparks fly and old secrets begin to surface.

When Chief Whip Esme Kanha learns of the sudden death of the Minister for Personal Information, she bitterly regrets missing his desperate calls the previous evening. Unconvinced by the verdict of su***de, and suspicious that corrupt colleagues played some part in the man’s death, she decides to investigate – but she must tread carefully in a near-future world dominated by technology, where ‘what can see watches, what can hear listens, and what can be followed is tracked’.

Meanwhile, Big Tech executive Henri Lauvaux arrives in London. His mission: to ensure the new minister, Harry Colbey, will not prove as problematic as the last. As the West inexorably slides towards an Orwellian ‘Big Brother’ future, Harry Colbey and Esme Kanha join forces in a deadly cat-and-mouse game against political corruption – at great cost to themselves.
