A momentous day for me, I got my first ever parkrun first place 😄

It was at my local (hilly!) parkrun where I finished 1/115 in 19:50, a new course PB.

It was where I ran my first ever parkrun just over three years ago, when I came 25th in 24:06! I never imagined then that one day I'd win it. It just shows what can be achieved with determination and consistency 🌱

Figures obtained through Freedom of Information (FOI) requests point to an alarming pattern of penguin mortalities, which a prominent animal welfare charity has branded “very suspect”.'

"A pregnant female was among a pod of 23 pilot whales found dead after a mass stranding in Orkney.

The whales were discovered on the Orkney island of Sanday on Sunday."

Samples are being taken but the actual cause of the Orkney mass stranding may never be known.

Asher Watkins had been tracking a cape buffalo for the kill when the animal instead turned its attack on the hunter.
