It's just over a week until The Walk - and we'd be so grateful for any assistance/donations your company/organisation can offer - as well as any coverage from journo friends and colleagues. Thanks to those of you who have already donated towards British Heart Foundation and Help Harry Help Others Cancer Charity.
The inspiration for the 11-day 225 mile walk from Pembrokeshire to Birmingham came from my friend, Neil Hames. His father, Wally, was one of the first people in the UK to succumb to Covid just a day before Lockdown. Like so many others, only six people were allowed at the funeral and Neil has always felt his father never had the send-off he deserved.
He and three childhood friends will be walking in memory of and to honour ALL our fathers, arriving in Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, on Father's Day (June 15). All are welcome to join along any part of the route - even if it's just to cheer them on their way.
This is all voluntary and I hope to do SOME walking, but will mainly be providing media and logistical support along the way.
