What a year it's been...

This time last year, after more than 15 years in mainstream teaching, we took a leap of faith and started a new chapter with GreenShark.

Our aim was simple: to support young people in a more personalised way. While our roots are in creative education, we've been privileged to mentor and tutor students from all kinds of backgrounds, each with their own strengths, challenges and ambitions.

Looking back, we're incredibly proud of what our students have achieved. We've seen young people who once struggled to engage with learning—whether at school or at home—begin to thrive, complete academic work with confidence, and discover what they're capable of. We've watched students who barely spoke at the start of the year grow into confident individuals, leading discussions and activities with self-belief.

The biggest lesson? Our learners have taught us just as much as we've taught them. Every student has reminded us that progress looks different for everyone, and that with the right support, patience and encouragement, amazing things can happen.

We've also celebrated some fantastic milestones, with students progressing on to degree courses, Foundation Degrees, internships and exciting new opportunities. Seeing them take those next steps has been one of the most rewarding parts of the year.

We're also incredibly proud of our very own Ollie England, who completed his mentoring apprenticeship last week after months of hard work and dedication. A brilliant achievement and one that's already making a difference to the young people we support.

To every student, parent, school, organisation and supporter we've worked with this year—thank you. Your trust has meant the world to us.

We'll now be taking a short break from social media while we reset, recharge and get everything ready for an exciting September. We've got lots of ideas, new opportunities and even more ways to support young people in the year ahead.

What a year it's been...

This time last year, after more than 15 years in mainstream teaching, we took a leap of faith and started a new chapter with GreenShark.

Our aim was simple: to support young people in a more personalised way. While our roots are in creative education, we've been privileged to mentor and tutor students from all kinds of backgrounds, each with their own strengths, challenges and ambitions.

Looking back, we're incredibly proud of what our students have achieved. Our sessions are relaxed, practical and tailored to each individual. Whether you're preparing for college, university, employment or simply figuring out what comes next, we'd love to support you on your journey.

We're lucky enough to work alongside the fantastic team at Best Foot Forward, and it's always a pleasure.

Their passion for supporting young people really shines through, and they bring a huge amount of knowledge, experience and understanding to every student they work with. They're brilliant at building confidence, developing skills and helping young people reach their potential.

We love collaborating with organisations that genuinely put young people first, and Best Foot Forward certainly do just that.

💚 It's the little things...

One of my students recently gave me this lovely card, and it genuinely made my day.

Teaching and mentoring is about so much more than portfolios, qualifications or creative skills. It's about building confidence, encouraging young people to believe in themselves, and hopefully making a positive difference along the way.

Receiving something as thoughtful as this is a lovely reminder of why we do what we do.

⚽ We've just about recovered from last Sunday evening...! 😅

What a game! Whatever happens in a football match, it's a great reminder that success rarely happens overnight. It's built through preparation, teamwork, resilience and learning from setbacks.

That's exactly how we approach mentoring at GreenShark.

We don't just focus on the end result—we help young people build confidence, develop practical skills, work towards realistic goals and keep moving forward, even when things don't go to plan.

Whether it's preparing for exams, building a portfolio, finding a career direction or developing creative skills, it's all about making progress one step at a time.

Aim Fest 2026 – What a Day!

It was fantastic to spend the day at Aim Fest, celebrating another brilliant year with students, friends and families.

A huge congratulations to all of our AAA Creative Digital Media students. Seeing your work on display was a real proud moment. The creativity, effort and determination you've shown throughout the year has been incredible, and it's fantastic to see it all paying off.
