With the restored Official HD Video for Catch now streaming across major music platforms for the first time, we're taking a look behind the making of the original video.

Few people have ever seen director Jeff Thomas' original treatment. Rather than building the video around a traditional storyline, he proposed an innovative performance concept using specially built miniature camera rigs attached directly to the band and their instruments. The aim was to create the illusion that Sian Evans and the musicians remained fixed in the centre of the frame while the world moved around them—a striking visual idea that helped give Catch its distinctive energy and style.

Watching the restored HD version today, it's fascinating to see how much of that original vision made it into the finished video.

The restored Official HD Video for Kosheen's "Catch" is now streaming across major music platforms for the very first time.

Originally released by Moksha Recordings in 2000, "Catch" returned as a standalone single the following year, reaching No. 15 on the UK Singles Chart, No. 3 on the Official Dance Singles Chart, and remaining in the UK Top 100 for eight weeks.

Taken from Kosheen's platinum-selling debut album Resist, the song became one of the band's defining recordings, blending electronic production with Sian Evans' unforgettable vocal. It also reached a wider television audience when the BBC used the track in trailers for the first series of 24.

Now, more than twenty-five years later, the restored Official HD Video can be enjoyed across major music platforms for the first time.

With the restored Official HD Video for Hide U now streaming across major music platforms for the first time, we're taking a closer look behind one of Kosheen's most iconic videos.

Few people have ever seen the original treatment, which reveals just how ambitious the concept was from the very beginning. Inspired by the track's brooding, heartbeat-like rhythm, director Jason Smith imagined a vast anonymous tower block as a living organism, with the camera racing through corridors and into individual rooms in time with the music's relentless pulse. Rather than telling a conventional story, the aim was to immerse the viewer in the same hypnotic energy as the music, with Sian Evans' performance providing the emotional thread that tied the entire film together.

The restored Official HD Video for Kosheen "Hide U" is now streaming across major music platforms for the very first time...

Originally recorded at Ledge One Studios in Bristol and produced by Decoder & Substance, “Hide U” first appeared in 2000 on Moksha Recordings before being re-released the following year. That 2001 release reached No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart, introducing a much wider audience to Kosheen’s distinctive fusion of drum & bass, electronica and powerful songwriting.

The track became one of the defining moments of the platinum-selling album Resist, helping establish Kosheen as one of the most distinctive British electronic acts of the era. It later reached another generation of listeners through its inclusion on the FIFA Football 2003 soundtrack and has remained a permanent highlight of the band’s live shows ever since.

More than twenty-five years after its original release, the official “Hide U” music video is now available in HD for longtime fans and new listeners alike.
