Time spent with animals is always profoundly healing for me and allows me to sink into deep presence. The exhilaration of the energy exchange between beings of different species and the ability to communicate with each other in this universal language leaves me awestruck every time. It’s been a long time since I last had encounters as intimate as these, and how sweet it is to remember what truly sparks joy for me.

I filmed our week’s stay in South Africa and this process reminded me of what I truly want to capture and share. These stills from the developing film are but a small fraction of the magic received from being immersed in nature again.

I am only now accepting the truth, that I must share the depth of my human experience in order to connect with others through the things I create in this world. In all honesty, I only scratch the surface in this video and look forward to diving deeper with all of you in the future.

The sea is calling my name again. A seemingly endless expanse both above and below the surface is simultaneously invigorating and deeply soothing. One day I’d like to live by the sea for a while.

When was the last time you walked barefoot in nature?

There’s a slew of health benefits that come with it including better joint health for your ankles, knees, hips and back as well as improve your sleep.

I find it really helps me to feel connected to my surroundings too.

Working on a new personal project at the moment and it’s always a learning process. I think actually making something is the best way to further any craft, yet I forget this all the time. I love consuming as much knowledge as possible from others, especially in the comfort of my own home, but hands on experience is what makes me feel most comfortable with my skills.
