Well it's a month today since I had my heart attack. Still reliving the scary incident and feel like I should explain what happened as not every attack is the same. I was moving bags of clothes and felt unwell so sat on the sofa and began to sweat profusely, then felt this agonising pain in my chest. Marianne rang for an ambulance whilst I writhed on the bed in pain, struggling for breath. The paramedics arrived whilst I chewed on aspirin and tried to get some pain meds in me but couldn't find a vein as I was sweating so much that no veins appeared. It was explained to me that I was having a heart attack and all they could do was to try and ease the pain whilst they transferred me to hospital. 35 minutes in the ambulance and I arrived in Swansea and was rushed into theatre where I watched the screen as they burst the clot and the pain eased. Very surreal to see it all happen in front of me. I was told that my heart attack lasted 3 hours and was lucky to be alive as these type of attacks are called widow makers. One third of my heart was damaged and I now have to take things very slowly and let my heart heal. One month on and I can only walk to the end of the road and back. I am determined to fully recover but this has been very scary for all concerned and I want to thank everyone for their good wishes.
