Who Are We?
DCR started as a solo project - our founder Darren began broadcasting online in February 2017 as In2. He has since reached out to other community radio enthusiasts to build a team and offer a variety of shows. In June 2017 we became a constitued group with an elected committee to develop the station. We have run some community workshops to give people an introduction to radio skills and several local residents heard their voice on-air for the first time - a massive proud moment and boost of confidence - and some have gone on to become regulars on-air! We have ambitions to develop the station with a community studio and training suite, going for DAB and fm licenses, creating paid jobs and great volunteering opportunities and doing community projects so that radio can be used as a force for good in Derby - we are applying for grants to help but we also need your backing to make it all happen and to show funders that locals care about this and want a community radio station in their city.
