Thanks to everyone who backed our enormously successful GoFundMe campaign we’ve been able to continue to make progress — including another recovery this week of *8* film cans.

Additionally, we are in conversations with other estates of families, and with companies who may be able to help. We hope to have new announcements soon, and also hope to bring you news of releases imminently.

After requests to extend the fundraising window by those who wanted more time to contribute (and really every penny does help as it’s a very expensive business), we have left the GoFundMe page active for a while longer. Nebula-75, our lockdown Supermarionation drama that was born out of the pandemic, has been selected as a key work for official preservation in the National Film Archives by the British Film Institute as part of its Our Screen Heritage project. The scheme is preserving online originated material as part of the BFI’s wider remit to catalogue and preserve the history of the moving image in the UK. From one-off YouTube short, to Japan, and now official preservation as part of this country’s film journey — Nebula-75 really has gone 33 million miles and beyond!

We will be closing our GoFundMe at the end of the weekend. Massive thanks to everyone who has contributed. The money can be put to good use straight away to assist with recent finds and current investigations. There is definitely more out there to locate. 5K reached! Thank you to everyone who helped us get there so quickly. These funds will help us enormously in our quest to save more material. We have new material to scan as soon as next week. We will leave the GoFundMe page active a little longer as every penny helps (and GoFundMe take a chunk which means currently we will receive a bit under 5K). We’re on a quest to rescue missing material. Those of you who follow us regularly will know that over the last few months we’ve been recovering lost films and audio from Thunderbirds, Supercar, Space: 1999 and others. But it’s a costly pursuit.
