Rehearsal rooms £12-£13 per hour day, evenings and weekends Home of the best of Leeds' rock, pop, punk, indie, DIY, experimental and extraordinary bands. A one stop shop for rehearsal, writing, recording, repairs and advice.

Also home to Cloth Cat, Bringing It All Back Home project, Old Chapel Recording Studios and South Leeds Community Radio. The starting blocks for several of the most successful acts to emerge from Leeds since the early 80's - starting as Parkside Studios in Armley, home of The Wedding Present, Sisters of Mercy, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Mission, Age of Chance, The March Violets etc moving to Holbeck in 1992 with Cud, Embrace, Kaiser Chiefs, I Like Trains, The Pigeon Detectives, the list goes on, not to mention the countless equally talented, but less well known bands, working pub and club acts, wedding bands, school bands, young hopefuls and old codgers.

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce on the 17th of August we’re hosting our first ever writers round! ✍️

Inspired by Nashville, we wanted to shine a spotlight on the art and craft of songwriting whilst showcasing some of the amazing talent we have here on the Leeds scene. So come on down for an evening of great songs, great writers and the stories that inspired them, see you there? 🧡

Introducing Eeade! We recently came across Eeade on the Leeds scene, and we can’t wait for her upcoming EP. The four tracks she’s released already are gorgeously haunting, each in its own way. We especially loved seeing her flex her Basque roots in Ez Zaude. Firmly refusing to be categorised, Eeade is blazing her own trail here in Leeds, and we’re excited to see what she has in store for us next.

Introducing Draags as our next spotlight artist! We’ve loved having them bring their wild mix of funk punk to Old Chapel and it’s always great hearing them rehearse as they’re one of the sharpest bands going on the Leeds scene. We can’t get enough of their latest album, one track in particular ‘Monarchy’, being a favourite amongst our staff. In an often quite mundane world Draags always bring so much colour and good energy with them 💜 We can’t wait to see what they get up to next!

We were thrilled to have Ruby Dean playing our first ever Old Chapel Presents showcase night at The New Headingley Club last week. She has an absolutely stunning voice, with beautifully ethereal lyrics - you could have heard a pin drop during her set, such a magical performer! Ruby is playing with another of our bands from the night - Sleepy Jean, at The Domino on the 17th June for their album launch. Go check her out!

We’re thrilled to announce that on Saturday 7th of June we’ll be hosting ICMP here at Old Chapel. They will be running their Songwriting Camp for prospective students! This immersive one-day Songwriting Camp is brought to you by ICMP Leeds, during which you’ll deep dive into the art of songwriting alongside some fellow creatives. This hands-on course is designed to help you refine your craft, develop new ideas and collaborate with like-minded students in a supportive and inspiring environment. Exclusively for students either already wanting to or looking to join them in September, check out their website for more details.
